I'd love to have te chance to hate gigs. I'm currently bandless and can't find any local bands recruiting a bass player except teenage pop punk bands, I could really hate gigging with them straight away but I'd rather a nice grunge or metal band to gradually build a healthy dislike for gigging.

I think it depends more on which pedals you use than how many you use. Some are much more sensitive than others. Big Muffs can get really noisy without a decent power supply. I used to need a noise suppressor with a daisy chain on just four pedals.

I used to have one of those and can confirm it worked well. The only reason I replaced it was it didn't have the right supply output for my preamp

Because the Supremes song I've had to learn sounds like donkey with a pick on my Stingray with nickel rounds, unless I crank the gain and speed it up as a punk song, then it works. For what I'm playing though, I can only make it sound right with fingers.

Top tip. We used to do that for rock climbing, I forgot all about super glue. My climbing first aid kit contained super glue and duct tape.

I've been playing a lot more using fingers this week instead of a pick and my index finger tip is really sore now. I would just rest it or use a pick but I've got a jam session Friday where I'll need to play without a pick for probably a good couple hours (I was the only bassist last time). Is there anything I can do for a quick fix?

I used to use daisy chains but got noise issues. I now use a Harley Benton Powerplant ISO 2 Pro. No more noise issues plus I can now run my compressor at 12v instead of 9v which is sounding much fatter. It's also easier to neatly wire on the board and easier to trace and fix faults. I wouldn't go back to a daisy chain.

Price now £550. A bargain. 2012 Sterling Ray35 in honey burst. Completely original and in great condition. Sounds amazing. Alnico pickup, swamp ash body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, 3 band active eq with 3 way coil split. Strings are almost new D'Addario roundwound nickel coated. Tiny ding on the neck (see photos) Weight according to my scales is 4.2 kg

I've seen him sing and drum live. Best for him to stick to just one or the other. It wouldn't be Foo Fighters without Dave up front on guitar and vocals.
