  1. I've never heard of Khrangbin or whatever it is so I thought I'll check them out on the you tube. Holy crap they're dull. The beigeness was far worse than @Leonard Smalls suggested. Even their instruments are beige
  2. Well that's a shame. Good luck with your sale. It's a great looking bass amp s bargain
  3. Nicole was with them when I saw them. She was pretty decent. I guess he recruits female bassists for the backing vocals. Same case with Pixies I guess.
  4. I missed your comment. I kind of gave up on them around the same time. I saw them at Glastonbury in about 2015 and saw too much of Billy's gut in his I'll fitting shirt. It was like watching a second rate Smashing Pumpkins tribute band.
  5. No mention of D'Arcy Wertzky yet? Sadly not much talent these days but part of Smashing Pumpkins when they were good.
  6. Gravedigger song - Mark Lanegan
  7. Ace of Spades - Motorhead
  8. Is it a definite no to posting? As a soft southerner, it's far too far to collect otherwise I'd have it.
  9. You're too late. It's sold to the bassist in a well known heavy rock band
  10. Looks like the SB1 is a bit over budget. £1200 seems to be very bottom end price.
  11. Not sure I can stretch to the preamp as well. I've got a LeBass preamp which is fairly nasty, that'll have to do
  12. I do like a bit of Red Fang, his bass tone is just what I want
  13. This discussion reminded me I haven't listened to Savages in ages. They've been blasting out loud all day.
  14. That is good value but (this may be controversial) I don't like the burst with tort pickguard. It's a bit too motown looking for a doomy punky noisy old bastard
  15. I would describe it as beautifully disgusting
  16. I nearly forgot Ayes Hassan of Savages. Nasty bass tone and some of the very best, most creative post punk bass
  17. There's loads of great female bassists. Paz Lenchantin, Kim Deal and Sean Yseult are some of my favourites. My own offspring is a fairly handy bassist, certainly better than me which isn't particularly impressive. Her school band currently have Hysteria by Muse and Orion by Metallica in their set.
  18. My Generation - The Who Well that was the obvious choice
  19. Beat it - Michael Jackson
  20. Whole of the moon - The Waterboys
  21. That G&L headstock is completely unacceptable
  22. I should have mentioned I have already got a Squier affinity P bass. I like the neck and string spacing. I didn't like the stock pickups (replaced with Tonerider and Kl0gon wiring) it now sounds OK but lacks the p bass snarl. Some of my favourite P bass tones are Matt Freeman of Rancid and Jay Bentley of Bad Religion and JJ Burnell (Peaches specifically)
  23. I forgot to mention I'm buying used so a lot of the options aren't current models. I know some shops sell used instruments but I don't know of any around here other than Bath Rare & Vintage guitars who don't sell instruments in my price range (up to £1200)
  24. I've decided it's time to buy a p bass so started looking this morning and it seems one doesn't just buy a p bass, there's an awful lot of options. In my budget I've got a choice of US, Mexican or Japanese then there's player, vintera, 62 reissue, lyte and Roger Waters signature or PJ. Where's a good guide to what's what with precision basses?
