Sergio had a very different style to Chi but he could certainly play Chi's stuff live very well. I've seen both live with Deftones twice each and both were excellent. Sergio has more presence on stage and a more minimal style. Chi could play like a machine but just stood back and did his thing.
Chi did come out and meet fans after the show and hung out for a while which was cool.
It was last broadcast 5 years before I was born. I do remember picking up the clangers VCR in Channel 5 video hire when I was a very small child and watching it in black and white.
It is but for me, the biggest thing against it being fake is that Russia congratulated the US straight after the landing. There is no way the Russians would have let the US fake beating them to the moon. They would have tracked the space craft and listened in to radio and telemetry signals.
My favourite conspiracy theory is that Australia doesn't exist. It's an actual theory from scholars including David Ike.
I also quite enjoy flag waving, super patriotic Americans who say the moon landing was fake. They believe its the greatest country in the world but its greatest achievement was fake and every president since (including their orange hero) has lied about it.
I think Sergio is quite an underrated bassist. He doesn't do anything fancy but he's got a ton of groove and never over plays.
I still can't get past Stephen Carpenter believing the earth is flat. How can a man who has been around the globe so many times believe its flat. I know he's smoked a LOT of weed but I didn't think there was enough to make people believe the earth is flat
I think some of it may be down to not wanting to replace Chi. The rest of the band were gutted when he died and I think maybe that's a big part of it. Sergio does deserve to be treated right though.
I think maybe it's a similar situation to Jason Newstead and Metallica.
Of course humour belongs in music. I think there's a place for everything in music. Humour, politics, emotions, hate, love, religion, anti religion. Its all good as long as its done well.
On of my favourite bands for humour in music is NOFX.
The Darkglass Tone Capsule is very good. What I found very useful is that it has a high mid control instead of treble. It just seemed to be a much more useful frequency.
The preamp board is nice and compact and comes pre wired and there's no soldering, just screw connections.
I put one in a SUB (not US) stingray and it improved it massively even with the original, cheap pickup.
Does anyone know what the picks are that come with Darkglass products? I'm sure they're not making their own.
I like them but don't want to buy more pedals just to get a few spare picks.
