  1. An amazing beastie - surprised there’s only one pickup per “bass” though. Should get snapped up fast, even at £7K
  2. Chattanooga choo-choo - Glenn Miller
  3. Mind of a toy - Visage
  4. I love the night - Blue Oyster Cult
  5. “Batman” theme - The Jam
  6. To be really authentic, you’d need to play what your typical mid-‘60’s mod bassist would have been playing, which would have been.......let me think.........um.......a Hofner (or Vox / Watkins etc) Ric semis would have more been the preserve of affluent emerging West coast psychedelia bands in the US, and you don’t want to be associated with that malarkey........ Seriously; what a star your son is for getting involved with this. Can’t wait to see the beastie fully restored.
  7. Impressive progress Maude, but more importantly - you need to sell me your Ric 4005 replica to fund this project......
  8. Waterloo - ABBA
  9. Are you gonna go my way - Lenny Kravitz
  10. Vindaloo - Fat Les
  11. Ha ha! said the clown - Manfred Mann
  12. Black Country woman - Led Zeppelin
  13. Anarchy in the UK - Sex Pistols
  14. As an aside; I had a ticket to see the Ramones live in Liverpool (1980?) but they cancelled on the day to play this song on TOTP ...... Goodbye girl - Squeeze
  15. Elvis ain’t dead - Scouting for girls
  16. Poison - Alice Cooper
  17. Definitely the 3 - more versatile as Lozz says, and worth very much more - $1500 for a ‘70 model is a hell of a bargain if it’s mainly original and in a playable state Edit - The 3 is the long scale version whereas the 0 is standard short scale, which obviously is also a major factor depending on your preferred scale length
  18. Thick as a brick - Jethro Tull
  19. Tug of war - Macca
  20. Destination Venus - Rezillos
  21. She’s got claws - Gary Numan
  22. Nice! Moog circuit and original case definitely a plus! Pic proves that these basses are strong enough to support the entire weight of the continent of Africa....
  23. Heaviest production bass I know of, though I'm sure someone will come along in a minute with a heavier one...... What finish version did you get after?
  24. China Grove - Doobie Bros
  25. I always keep an eye on Gibson RD Artists on t’bay, being one of my favourite basses (I have 2.....), but this is the first fretless version I’ve ever seen: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gibson-RD-Artist-Bass-Guitar-Natural-73257043-Sherwood-Phoenix/174558863526?hash=item28a484e0a6:g:8TMAAOSw4-Rf12pC Looks to be a factory fretless rather than a mod, and I’m pretty sure the board is ebony (not rosewood as described) as on the fretted sunburst and black RD Artists. Eye-watering price though......
