1. Hi, For Sale: Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 5 in Vintage Sunburst made in 2004. Black knobs and pearl scratchguard. Plays well and sounds great. A real workhorse. I'm sure you all know what they sound like, so I won't witter on! Well used and has several dinks and scratches that I'll try and show in the pictures, but nothing that affects playing. The battery compartment has been cracked and glued and works fine. A previous owner has touched up some of the bigger dinks on the lower bout. Comes with hard case in good condition. Selling as I've just got too many basses to justify keeping them all. Yours for £670 Based in Cambridge. Cash only please. Happy to meet up within reasonable distances, not so keen on posting, but we'll see how things go. Any questions feel free to ask. Cheers for looking, Andy
2. No takers yet, so further big price drop to £600.
3. If you have a phase invert button (on the desk or DAW) it's easy enough to test. Just try it in and out and see which sounds better (less thin; fuller). Where you find the phase invert is the tricky bit. In Logic it's on the gain plugin of the stock plugins.
4. Price dropped to £650 (only if not splitting). Needing some cash!
5. I must admit to having a vested interest in this topic as I have two Thump 12's up for sale on this very forum, but... I've been running Mackie SRM 450 tops and HD1501 subs with the Thumps as monitors for several years with no problems. I wouldn't use the Thumps for main tops, but as monitors and for practices they are great. And great prices too. Yes, you get what you pay for, but you can pay a lot more for something you don't actually need! I do have a sneaking suspicion that sometimes peoples PAs blow up because they push them too hard for too long.

7. As I remember there's only one section up the dusty end of the fretboard in LSOH, which is in a tune called Suppertime. Great tune, but I personally wouldn't want to sight read it. The rest of the pad is a breeze, especially if you've seen the film. Definitely my favourite musical to play. You might want to try monitoring yourself with one side of an in ear headphone bud set, as often the sound guys will try to get you incredibly quiet in a pit.
8. A Remark You Made is a lovely line.
9. Not sure which Mackie sub the OP has been using (they seem to do loads of different ones now) but we use the HD 1501s and find them great. Two of them with SRM 450s as tops is probably overkill, and I'm sure one sub would be enough (1200W, and £568 from Thomann). I think sometimes you need to get the phase of the tops and subs right to get the best out of them?
10. Ah, mix 1 makes much more sense with drums all the way to the end! I love the orchestral breakdown; go timpani! But mix 6 still edges it for me; looking forward to hearing their approach to the vocals. Top notch quality all round again this month though chaps.
11. Just sold my Streamliner to Rich. Nice bloke, smooth and speedy transaction. Hope it serves you well sir. Andy
