Yep, i did have been to denmark street and when i went into the bass cellar(is that whats its called the all bass shop) i thought it was really good, they were nice and let me play well the 3 bass's i asked to play. In waltons your not allowed to play anything at all.

Waltons in dublin, worst muci shop in the whole world, thats were i tried the SX bass's, None of the bass's in their have had a setup, all the necks are bowed so far forward they look like there going to snap.

The few ive played were nice and for the money i dont think you can do better, but they all really needed a good setup, the neck was bowed on all of th ones i have tried.

This is why i hate music shops, shows etc. YOu cant go and try and instrument without the guy/gal next to trying to do out do you even if your doing a straight 4 feel waling line or a clearly better then them ,but they still try. Ego's, i hate em'.

A buzzing, i took my bass for a setup, it will cost me 200 as i have to have the neck recarved.

Hi I was wondering does anyone know of any sheet music books that have some good blues or jazz music music to them. You know the ones that sort of have those play along CD's. I have some for trumpet and their good i find. Maybe some of you who teach might know. My Granny asked me what i wanted for christmas, i though one of these might be good. Thanks Sam H

Can i ask for people who have become pro musicians, and those who did study music, did you study performance or theory. Did you come to it later in life or as soon as you left collage. And how did you get out there?

What the hell, thats crazy, im not sure its legal for you to own that many, ans show us pics of only half or so.

Ive also noticed this, I had my first audition for a band with people i didnt know 2 weeks ago, i learned all the songs they told me too, some more that i saw they had played from youtube and a go at some of their originals, they were very impressed and i got the part. But ive emailed other bands and rang texted etc, that have been looking for a bass player, and got nothing, or they have arranged some date and given me songs to learn, and then when i ask were later, no reply. Its sort of the same idea i think, people want to find someone, but want no hassle of getting to know the person, get along with them, what they really all want is a friend who they can mold. Ive also felt this but have persevered, i hate it and at 16 its difficult to have time wasters as its not only mine but my mum or dads, it piss's me off.

Damn i wished i lived in England, to get a lesson try some double bass's, ill have to see if its holiday time for the nest bass bash, and annoy you all, with 20 questions, by 10.

Ive only tried one the DJ4, really nice, one of the nicest ive played im not going to say better than an MIA fender, but it was different, if i had the money i probably would go for one over the MIA. Really smooth i found and easy to play, lovely sound.

English music board, i imagine will be your best bet. Get that little book that has all the tunes you need to learn and scales etc for each grade. Then learn tunes scales etc for each exam, and then get in touch with the music board. Im pretty sure youll need accompaniment on some pieces.

What ones are good for bowing, i was just going to make a thread to ask if anyone had a set of good old strings they didnt want a i cant afford 120 for a new set of strings.
