Hmm thats very cheap. I bought mine for 900 euros new last summer, around this time. I would look for a bit more than 300 and defiantly make sure it doesnt go for less. They are amazing bass's for the money.

Saw your in Dublin, that little music shop along the river, god i cant think of the name. You can out of temple bar go over the ha penny bridge and walk up the street to O'Connell street, its fairly small but they have Warwick stuff i nthere, amps included.

I like it would prefer a plain maple neck but i still like it.

AS from all this information, i still think a teacher is your best bet, even for a short while to make sure evreything is happening right. If i had tried to learn on my own, i dont think i would be as far as i am at the moment.

Oh ya that simandl book is very goos, my teacher got me to get it, its long winded and slow, but its great for learning and getting you used to music.

I play my Fender jazz 24 through a Ashdown Mag 600r evo 2 and its great. It goes through a 1x15 with a fane 15 in it, and i dont have a word against. Im going to add a 4x10 though. The only thing i dont like about ashdown is their cabs, i think there the worst thing about the tone.

Get a teacher, its the easiest wayi think of learning something. I dont have an EUB but i do Have a DB and well it uses alot of different muscles, and can be quite tiring.

Woo another Irish user. Stu-khag, you say the 200 pound mark, well for postage from England to Ireland and then the price its probably 300 + euros. I would though get a bass thats complete now. Also with MIMs i would very inclined to play them first, ive played some that have been good, and otheres that have sounded as good as MIA's and then plenty of crap ones. There was a 5er MIM going for 550 on that aswell thats looks pretty good. Remember over here a new MIM costs 750 and a MIA costs 1450 just about.

Ive been playing a couple of months started taking lessons, im learning with a french bow, first of all my teacher uses one so it was obvious, i also believe it streghtens your right hand alot more then a german bow well its bein doing my one a world of good. Also my teacher said if you can play something with a french bow you can probably play it with anything. I got my first bow which is still my current from china, for 60 squids, and my teacher said it was really good for a student bow and the price. Its a full size. He makes bows himself, and only uses his own now, so i trust his judgement. Also on roison, my teach advised some sweedish stuff nymans i believe, but i got some petz in cardiff for practicality, its really soft, but goes on easy, and my bows just about rigt now, i dont have roisin it as much. Also i read somewere that its good to begin with violin roisin i did it and seems grand,
