I'm after some midi keyboard advice please - a pub covers band I play with is looking at doing a few tunes that feature piano/keys/synth - think beginning of Dakota and All These Things That I've Done, middle bit of When You Were Young and a few others with a piano line. Rather than us just fudge/butcher them I figure that I'd be better knocking them out on a keyboard - my main concern being not having to lug any more gear around than absolutely necessary! I've got a small 32 key Edirol midi controller keyboard that I use at home, and am hoping to cobble together some sort of setup to allow me to use that live too. As far as I know I also need some sort of sound module/sample generator that goes between the keyboard and the mixing desk? I've had a quick Google and prices for hardware sound modules get pretty horrendous pretty quickly, with the cheaper end of the market getting pretty unfavourable reviews. I then came across the Zynthian website, which looks like it would give the option of downloading samples of piano/Rhodes/other instruments? The trouble with that also is that the price mounts up pretty quickly, and that's before you've downloaded any samples, which I assume you also have to pay for? The ideal solution I guess would be some form of android software I could install on the tabket I use to drive our mixing desk, is this even possible, and does anyone use or have any experience with this sort of setup who can point me in the direction of the best app/sound samples please? I don't need anything too complicated - a good piano, electric piano, organ etc but anything that provides the option of adding/downloading other sounds - like the synth in Dakota - would be fantastic. Apologies for the complete lack of knowledge, and thanks in advance!

For sale - Haz Labs reissued Mutron III+. Great sounding envelope filter - very funky! All the usual controls: Low pass/High pass/Band bass/Notch selector, high/low range, filter up/down, peak and depth controls. Works great with active or passive basses, keys etc. Switches inside give more variation over the frequency range it responds best to - allows you to tailor the sound to different instruments.Takes 2 x 9V batteries or an 18V power supply. Very good condition - few minor dings as shown in the photos. Looking for £120 shipped to UK.

Hi all, The recent arrival of our first baby has prompted a thoroughly unjustified examination of exactly why there's so much bass stuff 'laying about the house....' As a result one of my Accugroove Tri 112Ls is for sale - they really are incredible sounding cabs, with a 12" speaker a 6" speaker and two 3" speakers all individually ported which results in a great response across all frequencies. I have two of these and originally planned to use both for live gigs, but to be honest there's never been any need for two - they kick out some great low end (handles my 5 string with ease) and some serious volume. These things really are the exception to the "you can only have two of loud/light/big low end in a cab". Its 400RMS at 8 ohms so can be used alone or daisychained, has two Speakon/jack connectors and recessed handles. Forget all the nonsense about the 'Accu switch' - this was after that when they were just focussed on building amazingly built and amazing sounding cabs - all handmade in the USA. One of the best things about this cab is it's ridiculously lightweight - I haven't got any scales but I think it comes in at about 31 or 32 pounds. I had an operation to fix a slipped disc a years ago and hunted for ages for a lightweight cab that could still put out great bottom end. Dimensions are 21" x 16.5" x 17" deep. It's in great 'as new' condition - no rips in the carpet, or scratches/dings in the grill. Comes with the optional padded cover. They retailed new for between £1100 and £1200, plus the cover - am looking for £430. Based in Dartford, south London but can potentially get it to either the Leicester, Birmingham or Bristol areas for collection. Any questions, please ask here or drop me a PM. Thanks for looking! Dave

Just bought a pedal from Thor, absolutely top bloke - fantastic and very speedy comms and lighting quick delivery despite Royal Mail's utter incompetance resulting in him having to ship it twice! Highly recommended!
