1. This is what they look like - I have one and think they're great. Lot of space for pedals and no need to worry about power for the pedals either. Also has a section for a tuner too. Turns into a fully enclosed and padded case for easy transportation and protection of pedals:
2. The best amps ever. I've got a 5150 combo just like this only 60 watts and also a 6505+ head as well. I've yet to play a better amp for metal / hardcore / punk etc. Knocks Marshalls, Orange and Mesa amps into a cocked hat imo.
3. Jazz bass profile neck which tends to dive if you don't play it in the right position (i.e. high up and rest your elbow on the rear horn ala John Entwistle) and not dangling round your knees. I found the mahogany body to be too muffled and warm sounding for my liking. Mahogany is great for guitars but for basses I don't think it works well at all. If your playing rock i.m.o. there are much better basses to use (precision, Jazz with hot pickups, Traben Core basses, Ibanez SRX, etc). The Epiphone Thunderbird (older ones) are similar in looks only and sound completely different to a Gibson.
4. http://www.guitarpar...arts/index.html I kid you not... anyone tried them ? They look half decent and the components look pretty good too. Badass II and Sky Pickups designed by Kent Armstrong. 5.
Just discovered this thread. LOVE that basstone WHUFC. Lovely and dirty.
That was my old Yamaha TRB going through an Ampeg SVT 4 and 8x10 cab. As you say it was a great sound and sadly I don't own a rig like that. The sheer weight of the thing would put me off, especially as I've got a nasty case of sciatica at the moment too
6. Is this Windows only ? I just downloaded it and the zip file contains a .dll file which I'm pretty sure a MAC won't recognise as a VST.
7.
Is 'Armoured Feather' the name of the manufacturer? I'm possibly looking for a similar kind of case and am not sure at the moment who makes them.
Its what it was described to me as. It doesn't bear any maker mark at all on the inside or outside. By the way, I sold this gig-bag / case this morning, so its not available any more unfortunately.
8. I have an old early 90s Trace Elliot 2x10 valve combo and its the heaviest amp I have ever owned. I've got a Peavey 5150 2x12 Guitar combo and its even heavier than that.
9.
Loved their 'Do anything you wanna do'
One of my favourite songs of all time. Seen them a few times live and they're great.
10. I've got two cases at the moment which are sitting around doing nothing and I'd like to offload them. Armoured Feather Bass Guitar Case: This is a hybrid case, a cross between a gig-bag and a hard case. Its light - and I mean really light, but its got the strength of a hard case so there's no worries about protection for the bass inside. Fits almost all basses, as you can see it fits a Jazz perfectly but I've also had my 35" 5-String Traben Chaos Core in here with no problems at all. Its got shoulder straps on it too so you can carry it like a gig bag too. £30 - collection only on this I'm afraid. Orville by Gibson Thunderbird Gig-bag This is a vinyl type case that came with the Thunderbird that I had. It hasn't got much in the way of padding but if you wanted to protect your Thunderbird from scratches without the need for the bulkiness of a hard case then this will do the job. These are rare as hen's teeth so if you're into collecting lawsuit Jap copies then this is a real bargain. £15 plus p+p.
11.
Theres a cowbell vsti which I found to be excellent for this kind of thing...
That's perfect 51m0n! Thanks very much for this, just what I was looking for.
12. I've been looking everywhere to try and find a cowbell sample for use on a metronome track for recording drums as the metronome track in Logic just isn't loud enough for our drummer. I've tried other samples (ride cymbal bell, snare etc.) but the cowbell just cuts through more. I can't find an .aiff cowbell that will adjust when I shift the tempo up and down. Anyone got any ideas ? Thanks in advance.
13. Well recorded track - reminds me a bit of A Wilhelm Scream in parts. Bit too American type punk for my liking but its well produced.
14. OOps, wrong part of the forum... mods can you move it please ?
15. Top drawer cover of a great song mate. You and your muckers did it proud.
