  1. Has there ever been an easy times for a West Ham fan? 😂😂
  2. You sir, would have achieved legendary status, if it wasn't for the fact you supported Spurs.
  3. BARSTEWARD!!! I thought you were selling a Barefaced Six10 for fifty sheets .... I was just about ready to jump in the motor right now! What a nobber I am!
  4. Just bought an Darkglass ADAM pedal from Ander and it was a seamless transaction with great comms too. Nice one mate!
  5. Ha! Just goes to show how one man's excrement laden nappy is another man's gourmet curry!!
  6. "MADE FROM ORIGINAL PRE CBS SEASONED WOOD" ... Jesus wept ... really?
  7. I'm not talking about sound, I'm talking more about tuning stability and more scope for intonation. I'd go as far to say that nobody could tell the difference in sound between a BBOT and a Hi-Mass bridge.
  8. For that sort of money, I'd at least want a hi-mass bridge on it. Why do Fender still persist with the BBOT, even on their high-end basses?
  9. That's a new one on me too. I always thought they were bolt-on necks they had on Rockbasses. I used to own a 5-string early 2000s Rockbass and it was great, sound-wise and playability.
  10. The irony being, that commie bedwetter wanted to ban Rock 'n' Roll ... screw him!
  11. My first real bass was a Westone Thunder IA. I loved it and it's got a huge sound (think Precision on steroids). GLWTS
  12. Westone Aria Pro-II Warwick Warwick Rockbass Musicman Sterling by Musican Fender Gibson Burny Traben Squier Spector Status Dingwall Vintage Harley Benton Riverhead Peavey Yamaha ... plus a couple of customs. Highlights from the above: '76 Jazz bass Warwick Rockbass Streamer Spector Doug Wimbish Dingwall NG-3
  13. Ahem ... Grays is actually Essex. That string tree ... WTF? Why would you do that? I think the bridge is a cheap Wilkinson knock-off as far as I can tell. That's obviously a cheap bass they're trying to pass off as a higher value bass. I had a Rockbass Streamer and I really liked it. Great neck for a 5-string and the sound from the MEC pickups was decent. Build quality was good too.
  14. A secondary school woodwork student could probably do better. The whole "Made in the USA" nonsense is just that. Nonsense. There's no mojo attached to wood and certainly not wood from the USA. Unless you can show me a frequency response graph, there's no "tone" attached to wood full stop.
  15. I had a set of these in a 76 Jazz in the early 90s and they sounded mustard. I think you might regret selling these, they're great pickups.
  16. I guarantee that'll make no difference to the tone
  17. As per the title, is it me or are they a lot more expensive than normal strings. Let's face it, it really is just a longer top string and shorter bottom string. Just surfing Google shopping and have found this: D'Addario XTB45130 Bass Strings: £37.99 Newtone Diamond Bass for Multi-scale instruments: £39.53 Spector Set of Five Multi-Scale Electric Bass Strings: £43.00 D'Addario Pro Steels 45-130 Stainless Steel Long Scale: £49.99 D'Addario NYXL32130SL Bass Set: £49.00 Strings Direct Custom Set Multiscale 5-String Bass Guitar Low Tune: £49.99 Pyramid Multiscale 5 string Bass Set: £53.00 Jeez ... would kind of put me off buying a multi-scale bass with them prices.
  18. Just a reiteration of what's written above, this is a great bass with a high quality build and great sound. Also @BaggyManis great to deal with too. GLWTS
  19. Bald Vag .... ahem ...
  20. If there's one thing I'd replace or look at re-designing in the jack socket on Spectors. You really need to use an angled jack cable with these basses. I've had to replace two on my Euro LX where I've used straight cables and they've accidentality hit against my knee.
  21. I used to have a set in my old '76 Jazz. Great sounding pickups, GLWTS
  22. *ON HOLD*
  23. Yeah I think it's a fair price, as I say it's stamped with a "2" which as far as I can tell is from the paint on the battery cover so I've knocked a bit off for that. I've had this bass years and I just need to reduce the number of basses (he says as he just took possession of a Peavey Foundation today!)
  24. I'm selling my Traben Chaos Core "Whisky Burl" 5 String as I've just got too many basses, so grab a bargain. I got this imported from the U.S.A at some considerable cost back in 2010 and have not been disappointed with it at all. It's the more conservative looking bases from the Traben range and it's quite rare to find one of these in the UK these days (especially a 5-string) with the Aguilar pre-amp and Rockfield active pickups. They're quite versitile as both single coils and humbuckers and with the five-way switch you can change the setup instantly (see diagram below). I've recorded two albums with it and the Aguilar OBP-3 pre-amp really sounds great for recording and live work. The Rockfield pickups really sound great (why they've never made replacement bass pickups in this range is beyond me). The 5 string neck is wide and flat yet really comfortable. Its set up nicely and its never let me down. Specs are: BRIDGE: Chaos internal bridge SCALE: 35" NECK CONSTRUCTION: bolt on PICKUPS: two Rockfield® humbuckers ELECTRONICS: Aguilar OBP-3 pre-amp CONTROLS: three-band eq with volume and five-way switch BODY: Royal Paulonia TOP: burled maple FRETBOARD Rosewood NUT synthetic There's a "2" stamped on the back of the neck which I think means it was a second but as far as I can tell, the reason for this is some white paint on the battery compartment protective film as seen in the pic. Protective film can be removed if you want. I think the straplocks on it are Dunlop. Looking for £320.
