Squier Classic Vibe 60s Precision - Fiesta Red - 2010 Fantastic condition. Lovely dark rosewood board. I'm being critical: there's one tiny, tiny compression mark in lacquer to back body near the strap button. Two indentations on back which haven't broken paint which look to me like finish flaws rather than dings. Very minor scrape to headstock. Should all be shown in photos. Pots were a little scratchy but I've sprayed with contact cleaner and are now fine. I'm replacing with ... the same, but in Olympic white. Currently strung with relatively new Thomastik-Infield Jazz flats JF344. Currently has Dunlop strap locks but originals included. Ideally looking for collection from Orpington BR6 or meet up within reasonable distance. Can potentially post at buyers cost and risk but currently all out of packing materials so would need to source some more first. £430 as is or £400 if I keep the flats and I'll put some rounds on (took them off the bass when I got it but no idea what they are). Specs: Body: Basswood Neck: Maple, Modern "C" Shape, (Gloss Polyester Finish) Fingerboard: Rosewood, 9.5" Radius (241 mm) No. of Frets: 20 Vintage Style Frets Pickups: 1 Custom Precision Bass Split Single-Coil Pickup with AlNiCo 5 Magnets Controls: Volume, Tone Bridge: 4-Saddle HiMass Bridge Machine Heads: Open Gear Tuning Machines Hardware : Chrome Pickguard : -3-Ply Tortoise Shell on (540) Fiesta Red Scale Length: 34" (864 mm) Width at Nut: 1.65" (42 mm) Unique Features: -Vintage Styling, -Tinted Neck, -Knurled Chrome Dome Control Knobs, -Gold Squier Logo, -Thumbrest, -Synthetic Bone Nut, -Brass Saddles on Fiesta Red Only.

Yarp, but you do get to see them in a bit more detail and they look lovely. Shame the rest of the video is useless.

Picked up yesterday so not had long with it. For reference I'm a relative beginner so these are just my thoughts rather than anything you should base any decision upon. Whilst I like Flea's playing and some of the RHCP back catalogue, I'm not especially fussed either way on artist signature basses for the sake of them being a signature instrument. The necks are similar, the Fender feels marginally more comfortable but I'm not sure if that's psychological as I know the specs or due to the width and radius difference. Aside from its looks, I picked up the Sterling as I wanted the versatility of the different pickup combinations and the option of a thumb rest near the neck but I found myself defaulting to the bridge pickup both for sound and thumb placement. If I only had one bass the versatility would be great but I find I pick this up when I want the stingray sound and therefore only really use that one position. There's a tonal difference in the treble, hard to describe but the Sterling is more piercing/abrasive than the Fender, that's probably the wrong word as its not better or worse, just different. Could also be down to different strings, Sterling has Sunbeams and the Fender GHS Boomers. Aesthetically I love both but I'm really digging the minimalist look of single pickup, no pick guard and three knobs with the satin shell pink finish. I'm also not aware of any other Fenders with a single Humbucker which I like as it's something a bit different, although I appreciate ultimately it's a stingray clone. So in summary, they are very similar for my purposes but too similar tonally for me to keep both. I'm favouring the Fender, probably mainly for looks because I'm shallow, although literally just picked it up so still in the honeymoon period.

Aye, it’s a beauty. The neck grain is particularly nice and the pearl finish is lovely; very subtle and doesn’t really come across in the photos. Flea second hand from eBay. Looked at getting one a while back but held off. Was actually looking for the passive road worn one but stumbled across the active, chap was close to me and was in as new condition. Seriously punchy!

Sterling by Music Man Ray34HH. Pearl white, roasted maple. 10lbs3oz / 4.6kg (on my scales). Excellent condition. Only things to note are some pick marks on scratch guard, paint finish by pickup selector switch isn't great and two very minor and small indentations (can barely be seen or felt) on back of neck behind 4th fret. There's a small "graze" by 7th fret dot marker on the neck (not fingerboard). Bought from this fine parish from @dub_junkie, original advert below. Originally purchased from Bass Direct https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Ray_34_HH_White.html Can't help buying these. This is my third but have just picked up a Flea active bass, they cover similar territory and I like that more. I've had this setup at Planet Guitar in Orpington with new DR Sunbeams 45-105 including a part fret level and dress on a couple of high frets. Up here for a couple of weeks before its goes off for a commission sale. After £700, which is what I paid for it plus some towards the new strings and setup. Can ship at buyers cost and risk but would much prefer to handover in person and happy to drive up to an hour from Orpington. Can also get it to Hendon NW4 if that's any better. I’m on my third Ray34 now. Build quality and finish excellent between the three. I absolutely love the look. I absolutely love the sound … but when other people play them. I’m really not sure what it is but something missing and means I never properly bond with them. Possibly the chunkier neck than I’m used to? But that has nothing to do with sound? I’ve deliberately stayed away from a USA Stingray\Sterling, cost notwithstanding, but it’s only a matter of time, especially as you say the Ray34 neck is chunkier.

I contacted their online web chat support to cancel my order which I had paid for in full and was refunded immediately, including the deposit (in two transactions).

@Ander87 Let me know when you're selling one of these! Both stunning. Any time I go off the rails bass purchase wise, it's bass heroes like you and @AndyTravis that put it all in perspective 😂

Obviously personal tolerance but I have the Magellan 350 and the fan is barely noticeable in my small practice room. Also like the way it mounts to the BA10-2 cab. It’s eliminated my Amp GAS although complete overkill for my needs. I’ve previously had an Ashdown RM800 which was also quiet, Markbass CMD121P which was slightly louder and a TE Elf which was too loud.

I bought this from @CJPJ September 2020, original advert linked below. I had it professionally setup when I got it and currently strung with TI jazz flats and Dunlop strap locks. Overall in very good condition but there are some minor marks, most noticeably to the lower body edge (one larger finish chip and some smaller compression marks). I had grand intentions of drop filling the chip but it's not in a noticeable position when playing. Comes with original hard case, case candy and tools. 2016/2017 model. Looking for £780 which I what I paid plus a little towards the setup/strings. Not looking for any trades at the moment. Happy to take further pictures if required. Would prefer collection from Orpington BR6 but happy to drive a reasonable distance to meet (up to an hour). Can get it to my parents place in Hendon NW4 without too much bother. Will ship in UK at buyers cost and risk. Bought some strings from Isaac which arrived promptly and well packaged. Many thanks.

An enabler who fed my irrational GAS for roasted maple! A lovely bass, as described and well packaged. No dramas, timely (and informative) comms and another easy transaction. Top banana!

Bought Bas’s infamous vintage white BB1025. Met up halfway, bass in fabulous condition and as has been said many times in this thread, what a lovely, genuine chap Bas is (he even bought me a coffee). A real credit to the BC community; I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from again. Promise I will look after her!

Yamaha BB435 Had this for about a year, bought from the fount of bass knowledge that is @therealting, original advert linked below. Excellent condition with some minor swirl marks. No dings and only thing to note is a feint scratch on body to the left of the bridge as you look up the neck (see photos). Has previously had a full setup including rolled fingerboard edges and fret level. I've raised the action slightly from when I got it and it's been used lightly at home. Selling as have a BB1025 incoming and therefore no trades either. Also comes with original cream pickguard. Specs: Construction 6-bolt mitre neck Body solid alder Neck 3-ply maple/mahogany/maple Neck finish satin Inlays dot Scale Length 34” (863.6mm) Fretboard rosewood Fretboard Radius 23 5/6” (600mm) Nut width 0/12fret 43/63.9mm Frets 21, medium Nut Graphtech Bridge Vintage Plus Light (steel baseplate/ saddles) String spacing 18mm Machineheads Lightweight open-gear Pickguard 3-ply cream Pickups YGD V5 P/J (alnico V) Controls neck vol, bridge vol, tone Hardware Colour chrome Strings D’Addario EXL170 45-100/130 9.36lb or 4.25kg (from previous advert) Collection from Orpington BR6 is preferred. Can also collect from my parents place in NW4, or I can meet a sensible distance away. Failing that have copious amounts of bubble wrap so can post at buyers cost and risk. No case/gigbag but can throw in one for £15 if needed.
