Gak sent me a new unit and the fan is now audible. The old one never had any fan noise so either dodgy fan or controller/sensor. I’m actually strangely impressed it lasted for 45 minutes with no fan at all! I can’t remember what the underside of my old one looked like but the replacement has a label/sticker over the original model designation so I wonder if there was a minor revision along the way?

I personally wouldn’t bother as most people are likely to change the strings for their own preference anyway.

Sold Andy a gig bag in a hassle free transaction. Timely comms and prompt collection. Thanks and sorry I didn’t have more time to chat!

Bought a stunning bass off Ander. Fantastic condition, as described. Speedy comms and happily answered all my stupid questions. Would have no hesitation buying from again. A pleasure, thanks @Ander87!

Sadly not being used as defaulting to 4 strings and need to make room for incoming. Purchased from @Paul S back in April, and he had it commissioned from new. Original for sale thread here: Spec: Finished in solid black with BWB 3 ply pickguard (you can see the grain through the paint) Swamp ash body. Bird's eye maple neck and fingerboard with carbon rods in a matte finish. Luminlay side dots. Headstock with simple M logo. Hipshot B style bridge with 17mm spacing. 45mm at the nut. Hipshot HB6C 1/2" tuners. Passive electrics with usual P bass volume and tone. Domed chrome knobs. Delano PC5 AL/M2 pickup. Currently strung with TI flats. Weighs 3.7kg, just over 8lbs Comes with original certificate and spec sheet and generic Chase hardcase. Condition wise I would say this was excellent overall. There's a small scrape to the headstock and a hairline crack to the black finish by the neck pocket along side a small scratch. No other dings but some pick marks to pick guard and swirls on body as you find on a black bass. I've done a quick setup from when I got it and now B string sounds dead which it wasn't before, not entirely sure what I've done! Also can't quite get the treble pickup high enough (3mm) so either needs new foam or my action is too high. Offered here before it goes off for a commission sale somewhere. Looking for £900 collected from Orpington BR6. Can also be collected from Hendon NW4 but you'd need to bring your own amp if you wanted to play. Don't really want to post and not looking for any trades. Happy to drive up to an hour from Orpington. Any inspection welcome.

Thanks all. Still waiting to hear back from retailer or Peavey directly. I don’t recall ever hearing the fan so sounds like that’s the problem!

Slickbag Electric Bass Gig Bag SLB-BG30 Purchased on here. Recently bought a K&M stand so this is now surplus. Think I’ve taken it out the house once. Excellent condition. No rips or tears. All zips working. Would prefer collection from Orpington BR6. Can also get it to Hendon NW4 without too much bother. PPG or bank transfer preferable. Will consider posting but neck part will have to be folded down and would need to look at cost.

Anyone else got a Trace Elliot (Peavey) Elf head that cuts out? I’ve been really impressed by the tone and size of this but now appears to be over heating after about 45 minutes of bedroom level playing. Cuts out intermittently for a few seconds and then comes back. Neither gain nor volume set particularly high. It’s covered by warranty so I’m expecting it to be repaired/replaced but have yet to hear back from Peavey or GAK where I bought it from. I appreciate the laws of physics apply to small form factors and heat, but haven’t been able to find much online about them overheating. Mine gets hot, which is to be expected due to the size but I wonder if the fan is faulty?

Jazz Bass Strings : Rounds or Flats?
Happypants replied to PaulThePlug's topic in Accessories and Misc
Guessing I’m too late here but have some new D'Addario EXL170 XL Nickels 45-100 that I’m looking to move on for a tenner and you’re local! Bought a twin pack but too bright for me. Will stick them up in the classifieds if you’re sorted. -
If of any interest, from spec sheet: Bass +/-15dB @ 100Hz Lo Mid +/-15dB @ 220Hz Middle +/-15dB @ 660Hz Hi Mid +/-15dB @ 1.6kHz Treble +/-15dB @ 7kHz Edit: but the manual has the low mids at “340Hz”?

Oh that’s it - I need a Super Compact!

It’s marked up as a German model voltage wise (I’m no expert but should be same as UK). They also threw in a European to UK 3 pin adapter as the supplied cable is 2 pin. No complaints, would order from MP again (and just have). Was an impulsive buy due to price although initial impressions are lovely. Clearly completely excessive for my needs and now I need a wider cab!

Ordered mine last Saturday and arrived today so disappointing to hear yours has been delayed 😢

Audio-Technica ATH-40x headphones Got these from the wife last Christmas. Used maybe 5 times for a total of 3 hours so excellent condition. Come with box and everything they came with new. Case and coiled cable never been used. Don’t find them particularly comfortable so going to try some DT770s. Bought from Amazon so can provide receipt/invoice if needed. Small ding on one corner of box. £55 £50 posted with Royal Mail UK only or collected from Orpington BR6.

Thanks @Merton The price difference is so negligible I’m swinging towards the 800. Both will exceed my current power requirements but nice to have some overhead should there be a future need. Now just to see if they get anymore RM112s at that price!
-
Crazy prices! With the prices so similar, is there any disadvantage of going for the RM800 over the RM500 aside from being overkill?

Between the Celinder and the Stingray for me as the track suits them better. Probably the Stingray if I was pushed and probably helped by the colour!
