1. I have an old TC 1128 graphic Equaliser that's been the backbone of my bass amp rack for years.
I've just upgraded my power amp and speakers and I need to revist my pre-set and I'm having trouble with the midi settings - my footpedal controller is sending midi signals and the 1128 is showing signs of receiving them, but it won't change preset on instruction from the foot pedal!!!

I'm sure it's a midi setting issue, but this damn thing is some complicated it does my head in!!

    Amy help welcome (well almost!)

    Ta

The bad news is that because the Euro is so bad right now, its coming in awfully close to the £500mark ;)

That's an onion in the ointment
Why would you pay so much for that when there are loads of transmitter systems out there for a fraction of the price?
What's so special about this one?

  3.
Epifani UL2x10

Ok this cab has had its speakers replaced with 300w celestion neos. Its a 4 ohm load 600w. Very loud, very light and in very good cosmetic condition. £250

    Crate 2x10

Well used but has a good sound and is rated at 200w 8ohm £100

I am based in North Wales and would prefer not to post. But would consider travelling half way depending on your location.

    Cheers Paul
Do you have a pic and some size and weight data on the Epifani Cab?

  4.
Bought a Trace Elliot 4x10 cab off Bassmanc, really nice guy and would do business with again.
Top Man, thanks - easiest sale I ever made - this guy knew what he wanted and did the business! Now he has a lovely Trace Elliot cab to go forth with and kick some serious ass!

  5. I've decided to take the plunge too and invite those who've done business with me to dish the dirt!

Any nasty comments and I will track you down!!!! ;)

    Fast, no-nonsense transaction.
Phil, you know you're going to get the good and the bad points mentioned on here don't you!

Good, Nice guy, genuine, honest, straightforward, friendly and his missus makes a nice cuppa

Bad - lives miles away from civilisation in bleedin' Harrogate!

  7.
No worries, I have the old drivers somewhere one needs re coning but the other is fine.
    We decided to replace both.
Were they 350w at 8 ohms? - I'm well out of touch - any idea what a re-cone costs these days and where to get it done?

  8.
NICE ONE STEVE!!! YOU ARE THE WINNER! If you Hilight the first posting my secret message will be revealed! (hence the *game* comments) White text on white background.

I just wanted someone who actually wanted this enough to make an offer, and I'll GIVE IT AWAY at the price of postage!

Steve, PM your address and I'll send you a price for P&P once I've sent it. I don't imagine it will be much.

    Nice one mate!
Nice one Andy - I like your style!
What else do you have FOR SALE??? ;)

  9.
I'm preparing to be shot down here but... Acoustic basses don't make alot of noise, that's why they only really came about once they could be plugged in.

I'm sure played solo they'll be lovely up close but combined with other instruments you'll be losing all that nice acoustic subtlety trying to be heard on louder passages. Would a double bass be more the thing? They at least have a history of holding their own in combos...
And here's your shot -
I have a beautiful Fylde King John Acoustic bass guitar. Sure it's huge, 34" scale and a deep dreadnaught jumbo body, but it's as lond as you need to accompany other acoustic instruments.

The range has changed at Fylde, and the King John has been replaced by the 'Magician' but Roger still builds the best acoustic instruments on the planet, but you have to pay for this level of quality...you get a few quid change from £3000 for one of these babies!

Thanks for the extra info - I don't suppose you kept the old drivers did you?
At 4ohms my amp is pushing a healthy 600w so it will probably rip these apart (!)
    Shame - it's a very nice looking cab !

  11.
One Eden 2x10 XLT cab was 8 ohm, had new Eminence delta drivers fitted a couple of years ago and decided to change to 4 ohm.
Barely used it since, as I now have a 212 cab.
It is in excellent condition, sounds great, padded cover included.
Collection from Preston Lancs, or meet up etc.
I am not sure what these go for, so thought offers in the region of £290.00
Do you have pics and measurements - and what's the power rating now at 4 ohms?

  12.
MB1.
Sorry! this was Your last comment to which i was replying....."Stranger Still!"
    was that the £120 or the £150 4x10 ?.
Ah - I get it!

It was the £120 version (old faithfull!). Been with me since I first saw Mark King at the Sheffield Lyceum with L42 blasting out the Early Years tracks through his Trace 8x10 with the lights down the side(!). I went straight home and raided my piggy bank to buy some Trace Gear of my own. I won't try to remember exactly when that was, but perhaps the new owner could have the cab carbon dated to get the year within a decade or two(!!)

I have a guy coming over to see the other 4x10 tonight and I doubt he'll be disppointed - it's a very tidy example and still sounds superb. The only thing I have against these beauties is that they weigh-in at a tad under 40kgs and I can't face lifting them every time the band rehearses or gigs!

I also have a guy from down South trying to get up to see the amp rack, so as soon as we sort that I'll be able to close this thread !! (Yippee)

Then I'll re-post the Peavey speakers again a little later on (though I do have a possible interested party who wants to borrow them for a try out with his band).

So it seems the BassChat forum has worked for me!

    ;) :P :)

  13.
Yep as far as i know it's the deluxe one at 19.5" deep but i'll measure it up when i get home. The lids are also quite deep but i'll get the pics to you. How deep is your poweramp?

I may be but i'm not sure. Where would you be coming from?

    Ta.

    Nick.
My amp is just shy of 16" front to back, but has rack ears on the front, so I guess those fit into the lid when the front is on?

  14.
Aaaah if only epifani amps went to 2 ohms I would have this off you in a heartbeat ;)
Why do you want to run an amp at 2 ohms!?
They really don't like that - even if they say they work at 2 ohms you're going to get better headroom and longevity at 4
If you've got so many cabs why not add another amp ?

Curious to know what you're thinking.

  15. Update to the Update!

The offer on the Trace Elliot 4x10 cabs has been withdrawn due to insufficient funds, so the rig is back on offer. I do have offers on the amp rack, but I'm hanging on to that so I can try to sell the speakers (and it's hard to demonstrate them without the Amp!)

As mentioned earlier in the Thread I do have two GP11 preamps. I've now swapped the one with damaged faders for the one in pristine condition in the rack, so after further consideration and some advice the price on the Rack head is now £330 (or £300 with the damaged preamp)

The 4x10s are £120 and £150 respectively (one is a little older than the other and shows a little more sign of use and age, but both work perfectly and have identical speakers).

The Peavey 1x15 ported Bins are £150 for the pair and I have the home-made horn box for £30

    This stuff new was:-
    GP11 - £200
    RA500 - £700+
    UV light - £120
    SKB Rack case £100
    4x10s - c £350 each
    1x15s - £450 (the pair)
Horn box - £50 (just for the parts)

That's £2320 worth of top end 500w stereo (or mono) bass rig on offer for just £650 (or £675 with the pristine pre-amp).
