1. There ought to be a sub-forum for fakers.... I just saw this on the Bass Palace website: http://thebasspalace.com/product_info.php?products_id=419&osCsid=d27a6c60ae87d9ec93f90c1d0bd88399 Is this in any way legit? My guess is that it's a custom build/homemade with Status parts. I don't remember seeing anything like this coming from our man in Essex.

4. Agreed. It was an in the moment thing. What this doesn't reflect unfortunately is that it was a fantastic and unmissable gig. As always on YT with players like King, Wooten, Miller etc the pyrotechnics get uploaded - the music doesn't.
5. Honestly....it was brilliant. The tone, the style, the groove.....just sublime. Yes the bass duet did get a bit excessive, but hey, it was in the moment with both MK an LG really going for it. I've never seen MK sweat so much trying to keep up with LG. It looked like he was on the verge of cardiac arrest! What counts for me is what's played...how it is played doesn't matter so much. The music was great
6. I saw Graham Central Station at the Jazz Café in London tonight. If you can get hold of a ticket for tomorrow then you gotta see them. Incredible band, incredible musicianship, showmanship, true audience participation (ie getting members of the audience to come on stage and play!) and an unashamed slapfest in the best possible taste. Unbelievably funky. And this other geezer wondered on stage for a bonkers bass duet halfway through the gig!
7. I haven't tried the Podfarm but I have Mark Studio V1 and IK Multimedia's Ampeg SVX. I've had very limited success with both and wouldn't buy either again. When mixing I've spent time with both and have always gone for regular EQ and compressor plugins over the amp simulators. I don't find either of them useable in the projects that I have worked on. However I have used just the heads from Mark Studio and used a different plugin for cab and room simulation to good effect though (B-Room from MOTU's DP8) which made me feel better about buying MS. I haven't tried Mark Studio V2, but I couldn't recommend it based on my knowledge of V1.
8. It's always nice to deal with Chris. A top guy and a credit to BC. I bought his Heil PR-40 microphone. Mic as he described it, great to deal with, delivered when he said it would be. Can't ask for anything more

11. Bass Wowee sold! That was quick - thanks phil.i.stein Original post tidied up - Nova Repeater still available.
12. I'm selling my Roland JP-8000 synth. It's a lovely instrument but just not getting played at the moment. It's in very good condition for its age with only a few light scuffs on the back panel. Functionally it's 100% - every key, knob and slider functions as expected. It comes with its original manuals (a bit tatty) and patch lists. It also has a padded gig bag, and it's only seen home use only while I've owned it. Price is £[s]450[/s] £[s]400[/s] £325. As I don't have a box for it collection from my home in south London is preferred. Postage is possible, I will pack it as carefully as it can be in bubble wrap and a guitar box and post at cost - but at your own risk. 13. I've decided to sell my Focusrite Platinum Octopre LE. It's basically an 8 channel mic preamp/instrument DI. Great for recording multiple mic/instrument sources and this example has the optional ADAT digital out board fitted. The Platinum mic preamps themselves are good quality for the price range. Very much in keeping with the rest of the Platinum range and you'd have to pay considerably more for an improvement on what this offers IMO. You can plug in 8 mic sources or 8 instrument sources (or a combination of both) and it outputs via its digital ADAT and 8 analogue line outs simultaneously. I bought this to record a live gig with all the mics going into this - the ADAT going into my audio interface/laptop, and the analogue outs feeding the front of house desk. It worked a treat, but hasn't had a lot of use since. It is in as new condition and comes with power supply, original box and manuals. Here's a link to the Sound on Sound review: http://www.soundonso...s/octoprele.htm Price is [s]£170 posted.[/s] SOLD
14. A couple of pedals for sale: A TC Electronic Nova Repeater - as new condition, boxed with manual - [s]£110 posted[/s]. SOLD A G-Lab Bass Wowee Wah pedal - as new condition, Boxed with manual - [s]£115 posted[/s]. SOLD Both pedals were bought out of curiosity and a bit of an experiment. Both played with for a couple of hours, then re-boxed and left unused on my shelf. So un-gigged and never used in anger. Product info for the Nova Repeater can be found at: http://www.tcelectro...-nova-repeater/
15. Gary bought my white Steinberger XL2 - and what a buyer. He didn't try to haggle on price. He felt the bass was worth it and paid the asking price without hesitation. The sale was done over the phone with a great amount of trust. Despite sudden snowfall followed by gross courier incompetence Gary was patient - well as patient as you can be when you've got an XL2 coming your way and it's held up! . I refunded him during this time and he paid again immediately on receipt. The courier shenanigans was stressful for both of us (Parcel2go and TNT) but it was a pleasure to deal with Gary and to chat with him on numerous occasions. Enjoy the iceBerger, best of luck at The Institute, and until next time on BC! Derrick
