1. I bought his CIJ fretless Jazz. The bass was exactly in the condition he described and a very nice guy to deal with through every stage of the sale. Recommended.
2. I have Amplitube 2, Ampeg SVX and Markbass Studio 1 which I've collected when there have been special offers. All are great for messing about with. However I principally use them for recording and whenever I've done any serious recording of both bass and guitar I've found myself rejecting all of these after much tweaking, and using more conventional plug-in EQ and compression. I've found that I just can't get a sound I'm happy with out of these amp modellers. I wouldn't buy them again. I won't be upgrading to Amplitube 3 either. My money best spent elsewhere. Best try a demo first to see if you're going to be happy with Amplitube etc.
3. Bump for Fello - top guy to deal with and a tasty player. I've heard him playing the Kala and it is awesome. I wish I could get this myself, but all spent out.......
4.

Woah!
5. Saw her on the X and Afrodite tours - two of the best gigs I've ever been to. Production, staging, arrangements, music and performances all absolutely top drawer. What's really good is that all the current material is performed as the album. All the back catalogue is completely re-arranged for the tour.
6. Thought it was mine for a minute - but mine is 952***. It has the same spalted maple top but with a normal width neck and black hardware. Good luck with your search.
7. Unrequited lust for that impossible to find Cutlass
8. Wonder if he'd allow collection and avoid the postage fees
9. I liked it too. But bass distortion needs to be handled with care. I'd find it interesting to see how this featured in the context of the whole gig. I don't know a lot about Caseopia - but from what I've seen they are all great players.
10. Yes good luck. Even the worst entry level bass clarinets will cost you a thick roll of notes. I've owned a couple of cheapos and they really were rubbish. I've got an old wooden Yamaha now and that's OK. The best budget bass clarinet I've come across is the Yamaha YCL 221 II. These clock in at around £1900 new and have an ABS plastic body rather than wood. Everything else below this really isn't worth it.
11. Hi Bubinga5, Are you going to see MeShell at the Jazz Cafe in London on the 18th or 19th November?
12. This is a very easy post to miss. If you put Status Series 2000 in the title you'd probably have 45,000 views by now instead of 45! Lovely bass BTW. On my wishlist but sadly cannot afford right now
13. RH450 user here. I've never used Markbass but other bass playing friends of mine do. What is it about the Markbass sound that you like? What is it about the TC sound that you don't like? I'm using a Markbass Super Booster on my pedalboard. This has the VLE and VPF on it. I don't know how far it approximates the Markbass head - but going into the RH450 which is set flat, it does sound good. I use the VLE more than the VPF - for a sort of instant vintage.
14.
I'm sure I've seen something a bit more comprehensive somewhere, but this might help a little for now: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vigier_Guitars#History
Thanks!
15. I'm quite interested in getting a Vigier and sorry if this question is not relevant to the thread: Apart from pickup configuration, what are the differences between the Passion and Arpege? Any resources where I can find out more about Vigier basses and their evolution from the past two and a half decades? Thanks.
16. I'm the bass player for Studio 54, who are an 8 piece disco function band that have been together for around 5 months. We are currently in the process of getting on our feet - we have about 2 hours of repertoire down and are in the throes of getting website, demo and band pictures together. We have our first gigs next month and what i believe is a promising future ahead of us. The band are a great bunch of people and very good musicians whom I've found a lot of fun and very rewarding to play with. Our current keys player is leaving us due to increasing commitments elsewhere in his life and we are on the hunt for a versatile musician with good ears who can cover the usual piano, organ, string, horn and synth lines as well as being able to improvise and fill the gaps in an arrangement. They would need to be happy learning songs off CDs, be available for rehearsals on Sunday afternoons and be able to groove. We rehearse in a cost free space in Sevenoaks, Kent and we are based around South London and the southern edge of the M25. Our repertoire includes songs from Chic, Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Kool and the Gang, Sister Sledge, Teena Marie, Rose Royce and others. If you know anyone with a passion for this kind of music and would be interested in this gig please get them to PM me or call on 07973 735 913. Cheers, Derrick
