1. Hi Skippy, Thanks for that. In a week where a few BC member's integrity has been called into question it's good to get the thumbs up! Bump for today:
2. Thanks for the bumps guys. Here's mine for today:
3.
Oh good lord! How much is that worth?!
They've got a '58 Precision in slightly less mint condition for $16500, and a mint '63 Jazz for $25000!
4. Hello All, I've a few pedals for sale that haven't found their way onto my pedalboard permanently. These were all bought from fellow BCers. They're all good but ultimately not to my taste. Chunk Systems Octavius Squeezer - Very good condition, no box or manual. Velcro strip on back - Sold. Electro Harmonix Bass Micro Synth - the older 24v version, not the smaller XO version. Good condition with power supply, box and manual. Modified for true bypass by the previous owner. Velcro strip on back - Sold MXR M188 Bass Auto Q - pedal itself is in very good condition but the plastic battery compartment cover is broken and doesn't "snap" in place. A bit of gaffer tape or velcro will do the job. Battery clip itself is fine. Box and info sheet included. Velcro on back - Sold SFX Micro Fuzz - I bought this from dannybuoy last week but it's not the tone I'm after. Very good condition, no box. Velcro on back. Sold. Any questions please ask. Cheers! 5. I got an email from Jules yesterday. The band have found their new bass player. I get the feeling that might have been advertised on other sites before he posted on BC. The search continues......

SOLD

What are you after? (and as I type this I can see the usual MM suspects reading this topic )
7. That's not a Series 2 or an S2. It looks more like an Empathy (though I'm no expert in all Statii). Head over to www.statii.com. There's a resource page there from which I'm sure you'll be able to identify this bass. Then get a good idea of its worth comparing similar on here and on ebay. Good luck. Looking on statii myself I'd say it was most likely a Series 1. Which came a long time after the original graphite necked Series II! This is not a graphite necked bass obviously, but one of the cheaper wooden necked models.
8. PM'd
9. Love the 1960 Jazz with stack knobs. The only "relic" bass that I've ever thought looked rather cool.
10. Don't wear your Arsenal shirt
11. I don't know if this helps but the softcase itself is manufactured by PSG: http://prostagegear.com/ It may be worth dropping them a line and asking them if they can sell the cases separately.
12. Check the seller's username. Could it be the one and only Mr Rotten?
13.

Exactly what I was thinking
14. Howabout re-importing your music at a lower mp3 bandwidth? Or have you done that already?
15. When I can afford the integrity - I'll have it Seriously though there is musical value in most situations and experience to be gained. And if you are a professional you approach every situation with a professional attitude - like Truckstop and benh have already alluded to. You can also meet some interesting people if you go into things with an open mind. And when you get paid, you can use that money to fund other musical projects . On another note there is a difference between musical integrity and personal integrity. We can all work out what we're comfortable with.
16. Ha! Seems I started a trend! Bump for the ER filters. Buy 'em, you know it makes sense.
17. It really does depend on what you're after I'm afraid. I do have both. Generally speaking the Markbass pedal has a broader range of sounds than the EHX (though by no means comprehensive) and subjectively has a better sound quality. However while the EHX doesn't have a broad sound palette, what it does do, it does extremely well. It's basically an octaver, square wave with a filter section. Tracking on both is good but the EHX copes with short repeated notes much better. The Markbass has a bigger wow factor out of the box but I find the EHX more useable in context. The MB needs to be hooked up to your computer to access it's sound shaping controls - I'm no synth expert but not impressed at all with the degree of control on offer here. The EHX is more hands-on. Just reach down and work the sliders until you home in on the desired tone (within it's limitations of course). No memory presets but then it is easy to see what you're doing and replicate settings from notes you make.
18. Good for you Silddx! It's an absolute beauty and please feel free to make us all green with envy in the Gear Porn section. I've had my eye out for a JB66. Have you seen any that are worth a look?
19. When I got fitted up with my ACS ER15 earplugs I bought an additional set of 25db filters feeling I would use these on very loud gigs. I've subsequently switched to ACS HF17 earplugs and the ER filters are no longer in use. I'm keeping the ER15s as a backup but selling the 25db filters. If you have ER9s or ER15s already you could replace the filters with these and have ER25s. These filters have only been used twice and are in as new condition. I'd recommend them in extremely noisy situations obviously, however they still allow you to hear everything in quiet situations. They attenuate noise rather than block it out. The new price for these filters would cost £75 from ACS. The price for mine is £40 posted. Full spec on all the ER filters can be found here: http://www.hearingprotection.co.uk/images/...specsheeter.jpg Any questions please ask. 20. It doesn't answer the question but I saw the Manic Street Preachers at Brixton Academy on Friday night and he was using an Italia Maranello bass in silver sparkle: http://www.italiaguitars.com/bassDetail_ou...thisGuitarId=22 Can't say I was impressed much by the tone. Felt rather than heard, but it might be the PA system turning it into a poorly defined mush rather than the bass and his bank of Ampegs.
21. Nothing wrong with a bit of showmanship. His trombone playing is top class. What a tone! I'm no smooth jazzer but that is an inspirational band who are giving me a virtual kick up the backside to go forth and put more into my music. Thanks for posting.
