2. As far as I recall it has always been around 20% or a bit less. 35% is taking the mick.... look else where sell it yourself you will save a ton of cash.. jz
I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what sort of commission rates UK stores charge for the sale of instruments on consignment. I made an enquiry today with a fairly well known store, and was a bit shocked when the rate came back at something like 35% of the sale price!! Is that typical?
5. Bump a rooney..... It is a lovely bass and a must have for wicky owners .... sadly I have gone to the dark side and I am getting a custom build so this will be surplus.... Jazz
If you want to know a lil history about this bass also for you metal fans it has shared the presents of Metalers "GodForbid" and "ill nino" back in march when my band was touring with them in the UK
6. I am looking at getting another Conklin a new one this time. ..... I just sold the Fretless..... Damm I miss it. Jazz
I owned Finbar's sidewinder from new - more than 10 years. In terms of tone, it is totally amazing. It was big and not light, but still very playable. Looks-wise it was a head-turner - stunning! If I hadn't blown all he gave me for it, I'd probably have it back today. If I ever found a conklin that was identical in sound and playability, but maybe a bit lighter with one or two less strings, I suspect I'd be looking at a "perfect bass" (for me). Has anyone here ever commissioned a new Conklin?

Yes I have.. but i think i will leave it the way it is it will be challenging for someone out there.. as I have a Bill Dickens Sig 7 fretted coming in soon. Although if it does not sell or trade for another 6, I might just lock it away for a few years in the cubboard Jazz
17. I look forward to seeing some old friends I hope they have improved on their scales... etc Jazz
Check out http://www.barbican.org.uk/music/series.asp?id=761 - London Jazz festival has some brilliant shows in store. There's two performances on the same day by Chick Corea/LennyWhite/Stanley Clarke, supported by a cut-down Flecktones - Bela Fleck/Victor Wooten/Regi Wooten. Then a week later Marcus Miller is performing his "Tutu Revisited - The Music of Miles Davis" show. get practising...
18. I think that was the natural wood job one? In 2 tone? Light maple and a dark ash if it was the one I was so close to making a move on it.... The things I could with that bass...lordy... That was very nice indeed....I dug up the details on it and they are below. I have the GT Model I think mine is a little light on the weight end .... If no one has played a Conkey... the neck for a 7 is amazing so thin. If bass builders or luithers are reading this just a quick tip and I have owned a few basses if you want a tip on how to build your neck and get it right and the spacing too take a butchers at the Conklin GT7.... The neck is so easy to play and not tiring on the hand at all like some basses I know. "That is a fact". I will upload the other photos in a bit. Conklin Sidewinder 7 string bass It has: 7 piece bolt on neck 34" scale Graphlon nut dual truss rods Seymour Duncan Basslines pickups 9v active EQ recessed Dunlop straplocks black hardware Neutrik locking input jack Conklin 'melt' top The front woods are figured Maple and Cherry, with a Purpleheart spacer, and the neck Purpleheart and Maple, with a Purpleheart fretboard. I am informed that the body wood is also Cherry. it weighs around 13 lbs. Chris has a sweet bass.
Chris has a lovely one (Finbar), not sure if hes sold it yet tho, was in the for sale section before ive come on holiday. That is a lovely bass tho! I wouldnt get rid of it either!
19. No probs I have had the cautions etc and now I have a good lawyer/Solicitor/Barrister ...I can whip it out anytime I want under section 6* Just want to see what was out there... they are ever so nicey.....
I'd whip mine out but i've already been given a caution Nice bass by the way i haven't seen many conklins on here, though i understand there are a fair few with them on talkbass
20. I have thought about selling this a number of time but when I pluged it in .... I gotzta keep it the others to follow.... Jazz
 21. I would have cancelled the tour gone home and had a few beers....
Curious how this will play out. Will Victor Wooten admit he was wrong? It's obvious why he'd make the mistake, but it's about admitting it in the end.
