The pedal on the right is a Gojira Ants in my Eyes Johnson (from Rick & Morty). It’s based on the mammoth fuzz. The control labelling does make it a little more of a challenge to use. @bobbass4kmy partner and I have been diving into Guardians so I should have known about Cosmo. I convinced her to watch all of Rebels too so I was pleased you pointed out your pedal!

That’s fantastic! It turns out my avatar name is a character in Fururama, although my use of it predates the show’s use of it. I’m a big fan:

Wow! For some reason I wasn’t expecting self-made pedals. They are excellent! I really need to up my game and get building. @fuzzonaut the designs on your pedals are fantastic, particularly the Fuzz Boxx. How did you apply them? I’m happy to go along pretending you’re not obsessed for now but you are making it difficult. @bobbass4k that is a spectacular board! Is that Laika towards the bottom left? Do your pedals do similar things or do they run the gamut? @KingBollock please post a picture if you do make A Doom Coloured Sun with an inverted Welsh beach. It may not be sci-fi exactly but it does sound interesting.

I know from some very enjoyable conversations here on BassChat that some of you (not naming any names) are big Star Wars fans, and I am too. I’ve been feverishly trying to build a collection of Star Wars pedals to make a Star Wars/sci-fi pedal board (a very big thanks to everyone that has helped!). I thought it would be fun to start a thread to showcase sci-fi pedals for those as obsessed as me. I’ve put a picture of my most Star Wars-y pedals below but would be keen to see your sci-fi pedals too! I definitely didn’t start this thread because I want to torture myself by knowing what else is out there, no siree… (I suspect my regular wanted ad for a T-70 and R-1 may be expanded as a result of this). Apologies to anyone else who may have done this before. I’m not trying to usurp your thread; I’m just rubbish at using the BassChat search function. I know this thread won’t be to everyone’s taste, but to those into sci-fi, please enjoy and please contribute. Bonus picture of a Dune themed pedal to get things rolling.

I recently sold a SushiBox SBVT to GR7G5TER. The transaction was smooth, payment was prompt and much enjoyable conversation was had on the way. A top BassChatter; highly recommended.

Darren very kindly sold a pedal to me recently and I can't recommend him highly enough. The pedal arrived quickly and extremely well-packaged (probably the best packing job I've seen on a pedal actually!). Plus great comms and a very knowledgable guy when it comes to all-things pedals. Thanks again!

FS: Darkglass Element Headphone Amp £165 - *SOLD*

I've had the Vox too and the Element is a lot more flexible. The Vox will get the job done but the Darkglass feels different quality and offers more as a practice tool, at least to me. It's robust, can act as a tuner, has changeable amp and cab sims and, most important for me, you can play bluetooth audio - all without needing any other pedal. I use Spotify to play my favourite tracks on my phone and play over them through the Element. I also used it as my desktop DI for a while. I actually have three... one on my main board for silent practice, one on my desktop set-up and another on a small portable practice board, so it's safe to say I'm a fan. On my main board, it's the final pedal so it can act as a DI, go straight into my combo practice amp, or just to use with a pair of headphones. The only thing I would note is that it can't take a battery - if that's not a bar I can't recommend it highly enough. -

Well, as part of a slightly ill-matched NPD double-header, that's that craving satisfied... My GAS is now (and has been for a while) a Cog-70 or Rogue One/R-1. Finding either is proving to be a challenge so this GAS may be here to stay.

It looks like there may have been a scam over at Talkbass this morning. Just flagging as a PSA in case anyone shows up here too selling anything too good to be true. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/3leaf-doom-2.1577660/

I ordered one too. It looks beautiful and played well out of the box, although I’m sure would have been even better if I’d taken the time to set it up fully. However, it’s now in pieces awaiting my cack-handed attempt to really make it my own. I’ve owned a Squier VM 70s Jazz for a while and I’ve never felt the need to ‘upgrade’ my jazz. I thought the VM and CV series basses were a steal but this offer is excellent.

I sold Marc a pedal recently. Top guy and a man of his word. Good comms and quick payment. Highly recommended.

I bought a pedal from Dunc and can highly recommend him. The item arrived quickly and exactly as described. Communication was easy and pleasant too. Thanks!

I recently bought a Hofner violin bass from Tom and he is a pleasure to deal with. Communication was quick, polite and pleasant. The item, which is rather delicate, was packaged well and arrived quickly, without any fuss and in the condition described. All in all, a breeze of a transaction and a great seller.

The SLO is a fantastic bit of kit. As well as being a tube preamp and DI, it’s has an effects loop, changeable cab sims and a headphone out. Having read the 280+ page preamp thread on another forum, I noticed it got nothing but love and took a chance. I’ve been selling multiple preamps recently but that one has stayed put. I have a Noble too, which is part of my desktop set up, but I’m about to build a new board around the SLO. They are a little difficult to get at the moment as they come from St Petersburg, but I spoke with Shiftline earlier this week; if you want to place an order it’s currently better to email than to try the site.

@mrtcat I’ve PM’d you as I’m not sure on the BC demo policy. The Origin Effects Super Vintage is a fantastic bit of kit. It’s more of a one box solution, with DI and cabsims. I find it a bit awkward to run with my Noble as I prefer the Noble to be last in the chain but the features of the SV suggest that should be last. The combination of the SV and the tube from the Noble combine very well though. The SBVT doesn’t have the bells and whistles of the SV but its dual tubes mean that it automatically has the heft and sheer air-moving power that comes less naturally to the SV, even if the SV nails the SVT tone. As the Noble is a permanent part of my set up and I usually don’t like running tubes into tubes, the SBVT is getting less of a look-in. One other pedal to consider is the Shift-line Olympic MkIIIS. They’ve been difficult to get hold of as they’re made in Russia but I believe they will be exported again soon. These have a 12AX7 tube, XLR out, SD card changeable cabsims, headphone out and even an FX loop so you can get the SVT sound, tube heft, and not need to worry about where in the chain it’ll go (https://shift-line.com/olympic) Obviously, touting the Olympic on a sale thread for the SBVT is a bit odd but can you tell I don’t really want to sell my SBVT?

Rob recently bought a couple of pedas from me and was great to deal with throughout. Communication was good and quick, and payment was prompt. The conversation was good too; great guy. Thanks and enjoy the pedals!
