  1. *SOLD* I'm putting my Idiotbox Effects Blower Box Deluxe up for sale. The Deluxe takes the original Blower Box design (which is a brilliant bass distortion circuit in its own tight) and adds a low-pass-filter and clean blend. It's in great shape and full working order. I'll cover UK postage by Royal Mail Special Delivery.
  2. *TRADED* I'm putting my MAE Black Math up for sale. I ordered this limited run reverse finish unit directly from Alec at MAE in Pittsburgh. I'm a fan of MAE pedals and I think this is the best of them; it's a NYC-style Muff designed to get a White Stripes-esque sound, and it's known for sounding good on bass. It's full of heft and can get hairy. It's in great shape and full-working order. I have the box but the file size of the photo is a whopping 1.9mb so I can't upload it. If you're interested in seeing it, please let me know and I'll try to get the photo to you. I'll cover UK postage by Royal Mail Special Delivery.
  3. [Price drop to £245 posted to the UK] I'm putting my EQD Life Pedal v3 up for sale. This is one of my favourite ever pedals: I have it in three different colours, have the purpose-built expression pedal and have a custom-made clone; that's excessive even for me so I'm letting one go. It's the signature pedal of Sunn O))) and is a distortion with a blendable analog octave up and booster. It's basically a controllable wall of sound and one of the heaviest pedals I've used that is still musical. Three separate footswitches for the different elements allow a good degree of control and tailoring. It's in great shape and full-working order. I'll cover UK postage by Royal Mail Special Delivery.
  4. [SOLD] I'm putting my Mountainking Megalith up for sale. It really is billed by Mountainking as the ultimate doom fuzz heaviest fuzz in the galaxy bass fuzz and it is indeed an absolute belter of a bass fuzz. It really is the Gandalf Edition too; I ordered directly from Alan and was given a choice of white or grey knobs to choose my Gandalf. It really didn't like having its photo taken against my table-top (fair enough) so I've included the picture I took for Instagram (which is why there's one photo with a grey background). It's in great shape and full-working order. I'll cover UK postage by Royal Mail Special Delivery.
  5. *SOLD* I'm putting my JAM Pedals Ripply Fall Bass up for sale. It's in fantastic condition and is a wonderful-sounding chorus and vibrato tuned for bass. It's in great shape and full-working order. I'll cover UK postage by Royal Mail Special Delivery.
  6. I think you may be able to use a CIOKS Stack Flex 4022 (the white / green, centre positive, 2.5mm version) in two 15v outlets: https://cioks.com/accessories/special-flex-cables/stack-flex/ I've found CIOKS to be extremely responsive with questions so maybe check this with them rather than take a chance at frying your pedal.
  7. £3.5k for a Wal would have been the cheapest I’ve seen one for several years and this looks to be in mint condition. Mk1’s typically seem to be fetching £5-7k and Mk2 and Mk3 Wals are harder to find. There was a period over Christmas 2022 where about six Wals sold from various UK stores before hitting the respective websites and things seemed to have cooled only a little (as shown by having dozens of enquiries from both sides of the Atlantic due to a single post here).
  8. I’m always happy to hang out with and chat to those that like pedals!
  9. I’d say the second Death Star if it had been finished. It’s actually not too bad because some of the enclosures hide quite light pedals. It is a bit of a beast though.
  10. The pedal I was waiting on to finish my sci-fi board arrived this week and the board is ready! Thanks to @lee650 for selling me the pedal that got the ball rolling a couple of years ago and to @pbasspecial and @andybassdoyle for a couple of other excellent pedals. The signal chain is: WTF > T-65 > Grand Tarkin > Destroyer Bass Fuzz > Dual Knightfall > Tarkinfall > Han-Taun > Kaiburr > No Moon > Resurrector > Hyperspace Bass Chorus > Darth Fazer > Harmochorus > Blue Harvest > Dark Father T-65 FX Loop: Boba Fuzz
  11. Excellent stuff! Brilliant Basschatter too so buy with confidence. Good luck with the sale!
  12. Agreed, sorry, I was just pointing it out to the thread at large as there seems a lot of DC7 love and that’s the best price I’ve seen for a while. Sorry if it seemed I was suggesting an unnecessary/unrealistic solution.
  13. In case it’s not already been mentioned, there’s a Cioks DC7 for £145 on Bass Direct: https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/cioks-dc7-pre-owned/
  14. Excellent and the same! My Barbanera went walkabout for a bit when it hit the UK (it showed as back on the Continent in the Netherlands on the day it was delivered here) but hopefully FedEx will deliver this time (sorry for the inadvertent pun). I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the pedal!
  15. Great stuff! Loving the Star Wars nod too!
  16. Nice! You picked up the Mother! What do you think?
  17. It is! You got me interested in what they had to offer (like so many pedals) so I jumped on the waiting list a while back. It’s a lovely comp, although I don’t always have it on; the DLA-2A at the end of the chain has the always-on-comp honours. I’ve had a few people ask me what the pedal with the green knobs is so, for anyone interested, it’s a Horrothia Type Two chorus. Horrothia make some great pedals and I think there’s a fuzz in the works too judging by a recent Instagram reel.
  18. The Black Pearl has now moved to preorder only. I’m glad for Will that they seemed to sell quickly!
  19. It’s a fabulous pedal. I’ve been looking for something to sit at the end of the chain and perform a similar function to a Cali76-TX and this does it very nicely. It’s not sterile or pristine, instead imparting a bit of warmth. It seems to make each note quite mellow and fat sounding. It’s quite subtle though, I didn’t notice a massive change with it on, but I did notice it. The notes seem to bloom gently and musically and it brings harmonics out nicely. There aren’t many settings to mess with either so I can basically just leave it to do its thing. I’ve realised I like the way the LA-2A works and sounds though (there are a lot of YouTube videos covering it) so if that’s not your preferred flavour it’s worth bearing in mind this is basically a facsimile. It’s also worth pointing out I always intended to run it at (or almost at) the end of my chain like in a studio (only the reverb and the console-like BP1 preamp sit after it). I suspect it may be a little too saturating to be run through my various octaves and fuzzes. I also think it may be overkill if you already use something like a Noble as there would be crossover with the natural tube compression. It’s brilliant with a solid state preamp like the BP1 though and the clarity/precision of tone is very hifi and articulate. It’s a 12v centre positive 1.5A monster though so powering it is tricky (I’m using a Cioks Crux) and the fact it has tubes and is quite tall makes it a little tricky to want to keep putting in a case. I think it’ll be worth it for the tone though. Reading the above back it sounds more negative than expected but that’s because it’s an expensive bit of kit that’s hard to try before you buy, so I feel the need to be a bit more reflective. I waited months for the second release though with the intention of having it as a cornerstone pedal on my board and I don’t regret it at all.
  20. The pedals I was waiting for (two compressors) arrived so I've now put my main board together. There's one more board to go; a certain sci-fi film series themed board but there's one pedal I'm waiting on which will hopefully be here in the next couple of weeks or so. I've finally got a board where I have an octave, fuzz, octave, fuzz chain (I actually quite like fuzz into octave even if logic suggests I shouldn't but now I don't need to choose). It's power-hungry (it needs three IEC cables) and the settings pictured reflect those decided by my bedcover when the pedals were upside down while I was wiring it, but after some twiddling it sounds good! The chain is: BP1 > BP1 Loop Send: Strobostomp > Opti-FET > Octabvre > Doom 2 > Subsonic > TAFM > Frantabit > MBD3 > Cave Bear > XD > Type Two > AFG-1 > ADG-1 SE > Slow Loris > DLA-2A > Nimbus SE > BP1 Loop Return > Element (underneath board)
  21. Agreed. I’m shocked by that. The Nomad is very possibly the best octave fuzz I’ve played and the MBD3 takes one of the best OD and distortion circuits and improves it - I’ve just put one one my new big board! Good luck with the sales!
  22. I’ll take that as a positive I think, so thanks? I’ve been pestering Russ at Doc Lloyd about these four about four months so I’m thrilled it’s here. I’m waiting on a couple of patch cables before I fully assemble the board but I’ve run it with the pedals that will form the board and they all sound great with it. Only the reverb and preamp will be after it in the chain.
  23. I’ve been waiting for the release of the second batch of Doc Lloyd DLA-2As to use as the cornerstone of a pedalboard build and received mine earlier last week. It’s a recreation of the LA-2A compressor and it sounds sublime. It’s in the same territory cost-wise as a Noble but it’s an incredible bit of kit: https://www.doclloyd.com/products/leveling-amplifier-model-dla-2a It runs on 12v centre positive power at 1.5A so I’ve been running it off a Cioks Crux. Another batch is due in Autumn.
  24. Amazing pedals and excellent guy - good luck with the sales!
  25. Brilliant pedal and great pedal-maker. Good luck with the sale!
