A few points to mention about the Brits First - it's quite funny that the real reason the show ran over time wasn't to do with Blur's performance (which must have been planned in) but with the length of their acceptance speech. It was of Oscar length and banality. Second - I must be getting old. The award for the best single. I'd never heard it before, didn't like it and had never heard of the boy band that performed it. At least middle age brings a modicum of taste then Third - I thought George Michael sounded completely off his head. Was impressed he actually managed to stay stood up. mind you he did have to hold onto Adele at one point. And lastly - Alex James makes really nice cheese. Our local deli had some a while back thought was so expensive I got the assistant to half the size of the piece I originally wanted.

I'm selling my Takemine EG512C which I bought about 18 months ago for a project which never took off As you'll see from the pics, it's in very good condition and comes with a padded soft case Am asking £240 ono for this bass and would prefer local collection as it'll be tricky to protect. Alternatively, I travel over to Manchester regularly so can meet up over there. Would consider trade plus cash your way for a MIJ Jazz or Precision if maple necked or an old Tokai Heres the piccie link http://s1126.photobu...tward/Takamine/ And the official blurb . Jumbo Cutaway Bass Concentric Rings Rosette Spruce Top Dots Inlays Mahogany Back Mahogany Sides Rosewood Fingerboard TK40 Preamp Chrome Tuners Takamine EG512C 4 String Jumbo Electro - Acoustic BassThe Takamine eg512c acoustic bass guitar is still one of the most popular of all Takamine guitars and appeals to all ages. Takamine's long history of providing quality stringed instruments is evident in this affordable and very popular acoustic dreadnought guitar. The Takamine eg512c super jumbo produces a lot of volume with super clarity and a tightly focused sound. Topped with spruce and built with mahogany back and sides, it has a 22-fret maple neck with rosewood fretboard (34" scale), rosewood bridge, Takamine TK-4NB pre-amp, and chrome tuning machines. The cutaway design offers total neck access. Bass and case for £260, no trades please. Thanks

I'm selling my 1996/97 MIM Jazz. It's black bodied, rosewood neck, b/w/b scatchplate and has been upgraded with Wizard Eighty-Fours. There's also a DiMarzio clickstrap fitted which I'm happy to leave on. The body has some scratches and scuffs on the bottom under the control plate and on the upper edge. Also the neck has some dings and nicks in it.I've done my best to photo the affected areas Am asking[s] £240 [/s]£220 ono for this Jazz which has served me well. I'm out of spare cases and gigbags so would prefer local collection. Alternatively, I travel over to Manchester regularly so can meet up over there. Can now offer postage at buyers expense as I've obtained a couple of boxes recently Would consider trade plus cash your way for a MIJ Jazz or Precision if maple necked or an old Tokai Heres the piccie link - http://s1126.photobu...ard/MIM%20Jazz/

Not quite cancelled... Our rehearsal finished early as one of the units in the rehearsal warehouse block was raided by police and turned out to be a cannabis farm. Wondered what the sickly sweet smell was
Yes, a 5 hole bridge and just lined up for an exact fit. The Power Jazz Special is MIJ, maybe that makes it different? Not that it helps you much!
Weird, my Power Jazz Special is MIJ, exactly the same as the one currently for sale on here. Bridge is 4 hole, was oroginally black but now badly tarnished. Any ideas anyone ?
Mike, no, it was a straight fit. I had a problem with a cheapie I bought on here that had different spacings to mine (even though it had been used on a fender) but the Gotoh 201 was a perfect match. A very small issue was that I wanted black, and when it arrived it was black chrome - there was nothing to distinguish it on the packaging.
but isn't the gotoh 201 a five hole normal fender type fit ?. My PJS bridge is definitely 4 hole so how did it fit without drilling new holes ?

Oli bought my Sandberg KT basic. It was a complex 3 way deal but he kept me in loop at all times and stuck to his word. Thanks Oli
I fitted a Gotoh 201 to my Fender Power Jazz bass Special because I think they look better but, mainly, because I rest my palm on the bridge and find them more comfortable. I also fitted a Gotoh-a-like internet cheapo (£14 or something?) to my pimped Westone Thunder Jet. Both originals were BBOT bridges. On both I had to change the grub screws to shorter ones because of the bridge height thing - with the saddles down low the stock screws stood proud and caught on my hand, but I was able to get the action low enough for my liking without shimming the neck. I can't honestly say I have noticed a difference in tone or sustain on the Fender/Gotoh, not even playing solo, but for the difference in look and comfort make it worthwhile for me. I am certain there was an improvement between the Westone BBOT and the Gotoh-a-like. There is, however, a marked difference between the build quality of the Gotoh 201 and the internet cheapie. Again, I can't say for definite whether there is a difference in tone or sustain between the two as I didn't A/B them but the Gotoh is a better bit of kit. Having said that, the cheapie is perfectly adequate and an improvement over the BBOT. Depends if the extra tenner is going to break the budget, I suppose.
did you have to redrill the Power Jazz to change the bridge ? - mine is a 4 hole bridge and I'm struggling to find a replacement bridge for the original which is badly tarnished
