    Apologies if my search-foo is lacking, but is there a starting point for a 5 string BB 425 setup. Relief, action nut height etc? in mm please Seems about right but I'm having to dig in a bit more than I'd like to get fret growl.

    Now look what you've gone and made me do! Popped into the local store and see the exact bass I have been looking for! Needed (wanted!) something with a bit of clank and zing to compliment the Ibanez with flats on. Not too horendous a price, and got a bit knocked off for a dodgy G tuning peg. that was rattling. it's been bent so a bit of blue tack on it til I find a replacement Anyone know where to get one if BTN are out of stock?

    Just a random suggestion here. These old dynatron sp3 have huge drivers and handle low end quite well. I picked these up on a charity shop for £20

    This is my own design for a P bass head protector. The design can be modified to include a logo instead of the circles if it is not too complex ( and nothing floating in space!). This may fit a jazz as well, but I don't have one here, next time I visit my mate who has one I'll try it depth is 14.55mm,. It is felt lined and slides on and is an interference fit, ie held on with friction. Available in black, white, red, stone (grey with flecks) and wood filament, this needs some sanding as it doesn't print cleanly. 20210609_234015.mp4 £10 including postage to UK.

    Hello I hope this is OK to post here, I have designed and 3D printed a head protector for my bass and would like to make it available to others. The space I play in at home is quite tight so I quite often knock the head against things, even taking it off the wall hanger I manage to bump it on the ceiling, I am a bit of a clumsy bugger! Although it would work for PA speakers on a tight stage or add a bit of protection in a gig bag. It is felt lined to prevent it scratching the bass itself and attaches with a snap lock to the underside of the tuning head so there wont be any rattles or falling off. This is my own design and not ripped off thingiverse, it took quite a few attempts to get the Ibanez curves just right I think there were about 16 iterations before I nailed it. This is based on an SR305 which has a smidge over 15mm thickness but I suspect it will fit other 5 string SR's . It's about a 3 hour print and I have just the one printer, so I'll try and keep one in stock, if there are a few interested I'll let you know an expected delivery. Printed from PLA+ colours available Black, white, red, stone (grey with flecks) and a bieige wood filament (not as tidy a print at the other colours may need a bit of sanding.)     Hi Folks, I have been lurking on the forum for a while and thought I might do the formal introduction thing. I am/was mainly an acoustic guitar player for about 30 years mainly folk and irish stuff. A couple of years back a freind offered me a Fenix short scale bass cheep and it took off from there. Now I finally get what my bass player from many many moons ago meant weant he said "wait until you hear the call of the wild" Currently gardian to (apart from the Fenix) a Mexican Pbass, an Ibanez sr305 and a hand made jazz bass I picked up from Ebay which is not light but has oodles of tone. I think I am about at saturation point but hasn't stopped me oggling the various offereings in the for sale section. I do a lot of 3D printing so I have been creating various bits and bats that I may make them available on here and see if there is any interest. I hope to be an active member of the forum but still a low end noob so go easy on me! Regards, Bob.
