1. In my experience, anything past 9 o clock is too high. (but that's most likely cos I hate the enhance knob).
2. Currently have 4 amps. Mesa Titan. This is my main rock band gigging amp racked with a Korg tuner going into Mesa 210 and 212 powerhouse cabs. I also have a mesa big block 750 which I've been trying to sell for a while. Sounds great but the titan is much more versatile having 2 channels. Fender tbp-1 and QSC PLX 2402 rig which I tend to play through a pair of Markbass 410 cabs. Use this set up mainly with my functions band as it's very clean and has more headroom than I'll ever need. Finally have a markbass LM2 800 which I use in rehearsal rooms as invariably the practice amps are something really crap like a worn out ashdown. I Also carry his amp to gigs in case my main rig blows up - fits in a handy little shoulder bag.
3. Could have consequences for Alembic and their Exploiter model.
4. My hard Rock originals band - the 117 will be playing at bannerman's in Edinburgh tonight. Starts sometime after 8pm.
5. Hey Deste. Keep us informed about where and when you'll be playing. I'm not too far out of town and would really enjoy hearing you play. Graeme
6.
Italian trio Nova are one unknown gem from my collection. Their LP Vimana has been on my playlist for decades
I have that album. Percy Jones and Narada Michael Walden guesting. Brilliant stuff. Saw Gordon Giltrap at an Edinburgh folk club 10 or 12 years ago. Still brilliant. Backdoor - another long forgotten trio with one of our best bassists - colin Hodgkinson And easily my favourite 70's glam rock band - Brownsville Station - at least one of their albums gets spun up once or twice a month. Shame there's only a greatest hits on CD - my LPs are starting to get a bit shabby.
7. Tell them old prog bands used ricks and modern prog bands use 6 string Bongos. that should shut the feckers up.
8. I have LaBella deep talking flats on my Kelly acoustic. Nice tone - just have to be aware that the B string is exposed core.
9. Jack Cassady's first Alembic had pups on a slide. 1972
10. Mine was 250 watts into 4 ohms - the 410 cab was 8 ohms so it was probably only putting out 150 as a combo. I had a 15 inch cab for a while aswell but got rid of the whole lot to go down a pre/power route.
11. I had a 1210HSMX (the H denoting a horn) from 1996 till around 2004. Loved it but ended up in a band where it just wasn't loud enough. Also had to have it seen to for dry solder joints. Weighed a ton and a bit.
12. My hard rock originals and covers band are playing as part of a showcase tonight at BOX opposite the Glasgow Garage on Sauchiehall street. 3 youngish shoegaze type bands followed by some old blokes being raucous. What more could you want.
13. Bootsy tries too hard to be cool to actually BE cool. Hutch Hutchinson manages to be cool without even trying.
14.
I think it's pretty clear. They don't want a heterosexual man.
Discrimination.
