For completeness, this was the same amp being sold on here by VINorange and it arrived at my house last night. Sounds great and it's loud as f**k so I'm pretty happy the OP passed it up. I'm only going to be using it as a rehearsal amp as I always gig with my Mesa rig so I don't know how it would handle in a pub but it's not going to have any difficulty holding it's own in the local community centre -

definitely a gimmick. They even put one in their pedals FFS!

i've used a Korg GA-30 for years and years. tunes very quickly, even the low B and the battery lasts for ever. I think it's been replaced by the GA-1.

thanks Luke. Unfortunately I'm wanting to see how the m9 sounds with my speaker set up. Guitar guitar edinburgh let me spend an hour or so in the shop testing cabinets with my old mesa titan but I had to put down a sizeable deposit in the first place before they got westside to send the cabs over. (was deciding between 115 & 210 or 212 & 210 so they were guaranteed to sell the 210 ). Might talk to them again to see if they'll maybe take my Mpulse in trade.

bit of a long shot but I'm wondering if there's anyone in central scotland with a Mesa M9 carbine they'd let me try out. I've been thinking of buying one for a while but it's a lot of money to shell out on something the shops won't get in unless you're already planning to buy it (and have put down a substantial deposit)

Saw YES in glasgow around 10 years ago totally screw up the intro to Ritual. Anderson didn't have a clue where they were so he stopped them and made them start the song again. And around the same time frame Nazereth had to stop halfway through the first song at a gig in edinburgh cos Lee agnew's bass pedal had broken. Took about 15 minutes to fix / find a replacement. -
Hopefully should make this one. Visiting my folks in a fortnight so they'll be a bit surprised to see me so soon after but well worth it. Was there a few years ago and met some interesting folk.

Try Stringthis.com , based in the US. i generally buy two sets at a time and find that even with postage from the US they work out half the price of stringbusters.

Was on holiday in devon last week and found myself in the Plymouth HMV. Was pleasantly surprised by their vinyl section and also impressed that they were having a 2 for a tenner drive on prog rock.
