2 sound check situations.
1. When sound engineer wants to hear just a bass, I usually play Jaco - Continuum.
2.When the whole band is asked to play - Guns n Roses - Knockin on Heavans door - whole song, if he doesn't say it's enough.
Well, i have a situation like that, and i love it. The bass i mainly play is Ibanez GWB1005, it has 2 strap bottoms at the bridge side, which makes it as a stand for any cabinet. Never got me down.
Lucky You! Sadly i can't allow myself to do so, because, as i mostly play fretless and i don't have a good muscle memory, i always have to watch either on my song chord notes or fingerboard.
I am satisfied if audience is happy and i am, too. I also like the gig where was no problems with sound checking and every band member is comfortable to play or sing.
I more worry about the others, because Waddo will have so much money soon and will buy out every single available vintage Fender on the market and never sell any !!!
