From me, there where never problem at this case. Every musician chooses his instrument and there can always be a money problem.

All the drummers i know, think they are very good and special, but at final it is that no one can't play without metronome.

Well, i got another way. I was invited to rehearsal to some pop-rock band, which said that they are looking for me for some time. I went to them. Asked what do they want to hear from me - very easy stuff, just over chords or more groove where bass is more noticeble, which i like better. They say - play just what You want. I thought if could show them my skills it would be better, so i quickly went in to the groove and played some interesting not so easy stuff, without mistakes. After half hour they just said - no, You are not kind of a bassist we like, sorry. I was confused and just packed and went away. Strange things happen before and after noon.

My favourite music type is funk and i played it most. The artist - Nils Lundgren funk unit.

I think that neckthrough got more sustain, but harder to tight up the neck in proper positision.

Live songs with rap must always have the very proper band playing and the vocal has to think about the txt a lot. Otherwise it's a crap. I like how RHCP uses rap in their songs.

I have started to think of buying 1 fretted bass, as my others are fretless. I have heard a lot of good things about Sadowsky. I know there are a lot people who knows, have tried, owns different models. I would ask You to give some small reviews on Sadowsky bass - any model, as i don't want to consider just by You tube videos. And also - is it wourth the money?

Squire P is not a bad choice, just find the one You feel better. Try out some Squire jazz bass also, maybe You will like them better.
