  1. I've just bought something from them. It's all gone very nicely so far, I'll report back in few days time, once my schedule has allowed me to be in for a delivery.
  2. I'm so pleased to hear this worked out for you
  3. If you can't appreciatr the sensationalism in the labelling a cheap bass having an incorrect spec in uts listings as FENDER FRAUD then WTF? indeed
  4. You might not think this image is clickbait.... ....but look at his recently views: G+L Series 750 L2500 unboxing - 5.5k Lakland 55-64 Review - 3.9k Reverend Triad review - 6k Inside a cheap Gretsch pickup dressed as FENDER FRAUD - 24k
  5. If Gretsch weren't owned by Fender, then the story would be, cheap bass has incorrect spec in listing, and number of people who cared would be scarcely north of zero. Clickbait rubbish from someone I had previously assumed was above that kind of stuff. "FRAUD" 🙄
  6. I got my ruler out. At least ½" wider on the left.
  7. "Depth at 1st fret: 22 mm" that's a proper neck 🤩
  8. I had a 604. It turned out not to be the bass for me – apparently I like them simple – but the build quality was excellent. Something I didn't appreciate enough at the time was how well matched the passive and active sides are. And I miss the very comfortable body. Thinking how much mine went for, this is an excellent price.
  9. A week before Russia invaded Ukraine, Waters told an interviewer on Russia Today that talk of a Russian invasion was “cow poop ... anybody with an IQ above room temperature knows [an invasion] is nonsense”.
  10. I've only just realised that the BB body shape is thinner on the controls side of the strings I've cropped this photo so that the strings and pickups are in the centre:
  11. Did you buy tickets to see Queen and find yourself shocked and dismayed by the absence of Freddie Mercury?
  12. Apologies for asking if there might be one single piece of luggage that fits me. Thank heavens there isn't.
  13. While it's good to see that decent shoulder straps are available, none of these will wear high enough for me. Guess I'll just spend the money on taxis instead 🚕
  14. Am I understanding the photo right, that the strap seam is here:
  15. Thank you — I just measured my Gator bag: from the bottom to the strap seam is getting on for 60cm. 10cm less than that would have me 😛 Or to put it another way: my BB is in it, and the straps join around the 8th / 9th fret, and I'd like them down past the 12th fret, between the tips of the horns
  16. It feels like I've looked at every photo of every gig bag on the market today, and the one which made me think, that might be what I'm looking for, was a Protection Racket one. I'll try to work out the dimensions from the photos. Otherwise, I think I'm at a loss. Just stick being annoyed with the Gator bag, I guess.
  17. The straps join the bag even higher up than on the Gator, there's no way that's going to sit up on the small of the back, above the belt. With something like a rucksack, the weight is supposed to up near the shoulders – the straps need to be joining the bag near where the side handle is.
  18. I've a Gator thing that in return for 40 quid is incredibly uncomfortable after 5 minutes and crippling after 15. The shoulder straps aren't shaped to fit at all, just two strips, stitched on so far up the bass that instead of carrying it on your back, you're bouncing it on your posterior as you stagger along. I've just been browsing through what else gear4music have. I've reached £180 and still no signs of anything that looks like its been designed with reference to carrying a bass guitar further than 20 yards. If such a thing existed as a bass bag that fits like every single rucksack made in living history, with the weight where it should be, I would be prepared to be very thoroughly ripped off.
  19. Literally snoozed and loozed. (Or is it snost and lost?) Ah, just as well. I guess.
  20. When Keith Moon died, his replacement was in the band a couple of months later. If this was wrong and disrespectful, Entwistle was part of it, and so got done unto as he did. More generally, I've never enjoyed the sight of people thinking that they get to tell musicians when they're allowed to play and what they should play, eg wanting to ban Brian May playing music he created just because they feel it encroaches on their absurd veneration. Being scandalised does fill up the gaps in a life, I suppose, and subjects are always needed to satiate the thirst to be opinionated.
  21. Eg compare the warmth of fingerstyle with tone halfway at 1'27" with the bite when played with a pick, tone on 10, at 3'20"
  22. Liking different things =/= telling a manufacturer their product is incomplete because it doesn't include a bit of decoration I like.
