Nah checked I'm wrong, well might be, Bob McBroom just built pedals in what ever was lying around, some hots are red some are random colours but there are only 5-10 of them and some might say hot inside and some might not, either way the hellbilly is rare and a very sought after pedal in the guitar world. Hope this helps
Ahh cool. Thanks for clearing it up mate
Just to let you know that hellbilly isn't a bog standard hellbilly it's a hellbilly hot I think they made 5 might have been 3 out of the 150 hellbilly's they made. It has more gain on tap I think it might use different transisters but I can't remember, either way it's very very special and rare. Should say on the back plate when you open it up hellbilly hot and a date that bob mcbroom made it
Really? Heres what it says when I opened it up: Think it says 9-1-05, but I can't make it out properly myself, im terrible at reading other peoples writing... Dave
Even if I put £50 with it?
Tempted, but Ill have to pass thanks mate. Only things id be interesting in trading for would be an EHX XO POG, Demeter Compulator, 3Xfx Fatman, Subdecay Noisebox or Quasar...
i see people talking about a hellbaby for sale, but is it still?
There _was_ a hellbaby for sale, im keeping hold of it for the time being though. Might be up again at the end of this month depending on how things go.. and bump! Back at my uni place now, so I can post things pretty much instantly. Dave
odb-3 keeps more low end obviously, as it has a blend pot, but this thing beats anything ehx have to offer distortion wise, much more out of control than a big muff will ever be
The pickle pie faithfully retains your low end anyway, so theres not much need for a blend pot IMHO. Its a thick fuzz anyway, rather than an overdrive. Theres some soundclips of it on bass here http://wrenandcuff.com/pickled_bass.html The mid switch basically removes the mid-scoop, giving you another range of sounds. I still prefer mine with the scoop, but its nice to have the option of versatility. Definately recommended from me.
Bumpety-bump. http://www.bargeconcepts.com/vbjr.html I'm very much considering a purchase. Can someone possibly give me the low-down in simplistic terms? I'm just looking to be able to crowbar in a lump of clean tone with my effects which possible (?) with this chappy. I know there's a larger/more complex version, but I'd really like to keep my board small if possible If you think the benefits of the bigger pedal are so great that it would be pointless getting the micro one, lemme know. But keep in mind I'm not really wanting anything fancy from this, just some underlying beef when using slightly trebly/tone-sucking units.
The bigger one just has a feedback loop. Useful if you want to make crazy noises. But if you just want a clean tone blended with an effected one, then the Jr is the box for you Theres also another Jr model coming out soon that will let you control the blended amount with an expression pedal...
