Flea does tend to gig the most recent version of his signature basses, respectively Modulus, Fleabass, and Fender, although the era of the second was pretty short-lived IIRC

I'm not sure that progress should always be considered the end goal of of design manufacture, I often look at what is being described as progress and long for the past, which I suspect is part of the appeal of Fender and HD 👍

As I understand it, there is a degree of hit and miss with Ric QC even today, there is an example on this forum somewhere of an instrument on Ric's stand at a show on which the G -strings was pretty much missing both the PUPs and the neck!

As per the Enfield thread, I've put a lovely MIJ 62RI fretted neck on it and it just works, and I'm about to install a J-Retro and a Badass II. I think I prefer the fretted over fretless. So, in theory I keep the Enfield as my fretted and the Precision as my fretless and all is good with the world 👍 Giving it some serious thought......

I'm the same, inverse law for me, fewer gigs = bigger rigs. Mesa Carbine M6 weighs marginally more than my car but sounds glorious even if I could get the same volume from a Class D and Barefaced, I still prefer to use the biggun. Would be a PITA if I were gigging every week though
