That made me chuckle. The answer to that question is a whole can of worms best left closed, an era of my life that is well behind me, one I'd be happier to talk about had anything I played, wrote, or even wore - especially hairstyles - possessed any quality or merit

Glorious, just glorious. Why did I wait so long? It brings a joy to our kitchen that has been absent since my family decided that Heart FM was their preferred station about 5-years ago (I know, but some battles are not worth fighting). And the songs I'm hearing that I'd forgotten, I even heard one of my old bands from 1984 the other day (a reliable sign of quality curation if ever there was one). And the basslines? Seems the editorial policy is defined by the two questions 'Is the artist credible?' and 'Is the bassline creative?' Love it. Renewed my faith in the BBC ๐

I got the same, seems Trustpilot are happy to hand it out but not so happy to have it going back at them......

Get that. I quite liked the idea of it sitting open in my studio so that while my two main basses are protected (kids/mates/drummers), I don't have the faff of having to open/close cases to get the basses out. Then when a gig comes along, I just put the cover on and in the back of the car with it. Wall hangers might be a cheaper option of course

Who knows, bit annoyed by the whole thing to be honest but c'est la vie ๐ค

I think it's great kit, expensive but then so are the basses it's protecting, and having twice had basses kicked off stands at gigs - once resulting in a bent tuner which is a real PITA at a gig - this is a great solution for both safely transporting them and housing them on stage. I would happily have accepted a replacement had the supplier been reasonable about it, but given it was going to have to be sent back to Germany for inspection before a replacement was sent back to Andertons and then to me, and with no guarantee on timelines, I gave up. Having just check it looks like the unit I have is the older version also, and having just packed it for the return collection, given the condition of the box (as well as the internal packaging when I first opened it) and the number of labels that have clearly been stuck to it, get the sense that this might not be the first time this box has been out and back ๐ค

Update on my case, a frustrating process. The problem was that the hinge for the cover was bent when the case arrived, which meant that it was not only hard to get the cover off, but once it was off, it was almost impossible to get it back on, it took me 15 minutes and was very fiddly, certainly not the sort of thing I want to be doing in a rush at the end of a gig in poor light. I went back to Andertons and requested a replacement to which they agreed initially, bit then indicated that as they had no stock they'd have to contact the supplier for a replacement. The supplier subsequently offered to send a replacement hinge for me to fix the unit myself; yeh tight, DIY repair on a ยฃ550 case that was faulty on arrival. Not unreasonably I said no and insisted on a replacement. The supplier indicated they'll only do so once they've received my case and inspected it, which strikes me as pretty poor. Andertons have been great - although I suspect they should have recognised that as the seller the onus was on them to sort me a replacement - and are now accepting it back for a refund. I've no idea who the supplier is but they've just lost a sale. It's a shame as it's a good piece of kit

Bought some tuners from Diego, lovely comms, very quick delivery, well packaged and great gear. All in all a very satisfying experience, many thanks @dballona Chris

I think this is my fourth or fifth entry in this thread (as Andy mentioned in a PM yesterday, he and I have rather similar taste in basses)! Just bought an absolutely lovely MIJ '62RI Precision neck from Andy and it ha completely revitalised my Enfield, for which I'm very very grateful! Doesn't need saying given the 6-pages of positive feedback already in this thread, but comms were perfect, packaging was perfect, delivery was very quick and the price was spot on (in fact IIRC Andy tried to negotiate me down on the sale price at one point). For sale something of a marmite bass, I love it but having recently put a fretted neck on my Enfield Fusion, and having a few studio things to buy, this is for sale. I'll let the photos do the talking, suffice to say that it's what a Fender Custom Shop bass should be, unique, extremely well engineered, AND great sounding and playing. Trade wise I'd talk studio gear, amps, hifi, but would like at least 50% of the deal to be cash. Collection form Whitstable or meet up preferable, courier an option, I have boxes and it's in a FCS hard case Original listing here https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Fender_Custom_Shop_Closet_Classic_Precision_Pro.html

FS/FT a highly modified Squier Classic Vibe Mustang. Selling this for a little less than I paid but significantly less than what it's worth as a bass IMO. Bought from Dan @d_g on here a couple of months back, largely because the moment I saw it I was in love, and it certainly doesn't disappoint! it's possibly everything I could ever want in a bass if it was 34" scale - tone, looks, weight, tone - but it's not 34"! i gigged it just before Xmas and got into a bit of a mess and also ended up with quite bad cramp, the jump from mostly big fat Precision necks to the very elegant neck on this was in retrospect a big ask. Dan's details below It started life as a Squier Classic Vibe Mustang. Since then it's had the following modifications: - Nordsrand NM4 Pickup - Hipshot Lollipop tuners - Neck and body fully stripped - Luminlay side dots installed - Body refinished in seafoam green over two colour sunburst - all in nitro and done a few months ago so it will continue to wear as it's played - Heavy relic finish with lots of checking - Neck refinished in tinted nitro with matching seafoam headstock - Back of neck nitro worn back down, tinted and left with a super smooth satin finish - Gold Fender decal applied - Fender Rosewood Thumb rest added - All hardware reliced - New parchment pickguard with subtle relic - Squier neckplate replaced with plain relic one Anyway, lovely bass, Dan's relic work is outstanding and the upgrades, especially the PUPs, work extremely well. Collection from Whitstable preferred, courier possible (I have boxes), or meet-up in SE/London Photos (I've used Dan's originals) Trades? Decent hifi gear, studio gear or amplification always on my want list Original listing here
