  1. Thanks @ezbass @Merton do you still have the P-Retro? Could you explain the coil positions? Thanks πŸ‘
  2. I'm liking playing with my thumb these days, something I started doing when trying to emulate the feel of a double bass albeit on an electric. I find it slows me down, simplifies what I'm trying to do, makes me more attentive especially to the drummist, and at times produces a tone I can't get using any other method. Of course, this opens a whole new can of worms as to the correct placement of my fingers πŸ‘
  3. Suspect you play to a better class of audience than me Steve πŸ‘
  4. Most expensive new bass I've bought was a 2007 Modulus Flea at around Β£1700 at the time IIRC πŸ‘
  5. Well, mine arrived damaged (although it could just be a bad day at the factory, it's hard to tell); not sure what that says about how much good it would be in an aircraft hold. It's otherwise an impressive piece of kit, so all going well i'm getting a replacement although currently the retailer in question is out of stock.... One thing that was noticeable is that a standard Fender Bass only just fits length-wise, initially I thought they'd sent me the guitar version. It's a very good/tight fit for sure, but as @Steve Browning said, it's not an easy in and out so perhaps not great on stage unless there's serious risk of damage. Having said this I've played a couple of gigs - mostly functions - where I'd certainly have put up with the hassle to keep the basses away from the "This your's mate, nice, can I have a go...?" punters
  6. Could I take that Smanth, happy to pay original asking price if you could PM me details. No rush sending πŸ‘
  7. Apologies, misread thread, it was a used electric bass (custom colour LPB '64 Precision, MOB). A life defining moment in some respects, a big lesson in economics and the vintage gear market in others. I partly blame @Happy Jack
  8. Β£8k. I know because I did. Would I do it againβ€¦πŸ€”
  9. Part of my history also, listening to White Punks on Dope in his memory πŸ˜•
  10. Contender for POTY πŸ˜€πŸ€”πŸ‘
  11. And apparently headless Bongos are cool also, as you say, every day is a school day πŸ˜€
  12. That’s more than a bad day on the Fodera production line πŸ€”
  13. Yep, positioning machines is not something to be done in a rush πŸ‘
  14. Sure it’s fine, might even be a huge improvement on the original, but I suspect any buyer would want to know a few whys. Why did you do it, why is it better than the original, and why are you now selling it?
  15. So why sell the bass you created for yourself?
