I received the exact opposite claim - wood makes NO difference to tone at all - from a very well known maker of pickups. Go figure 🤔

I've always seen music as much about the social as the artistic, so when a few local guys who I both really like and who can really play got some momentum around a series of projects, I felt very happy to be picking up an electric again (in fact two, more to come.....) 👍

Long story as to the why and the how, but very happy nonetheless. Original 1971 in all it's glory, weighs slightly less than the Titanic but is a joy, plays like butter and sounds like the Precision sound in your head. Bought for s very specific project that I'm now very glad I chose 👍

This is all run off the mill stuff these days, can't see any need for negative feedback, courier was crap, seller having a bad day, buyer perhaps a little too anxious (not a criticism, we've all been there). I've had a couple of way way worse courier experiences recently, complete comedy crapness, both made a whole lot easier by the fact that both the people at the other end - BCers of course - were very calm and cool about everything 👍

I can see why you might feel that, but there are no jibes, only comments based on the thread to date in which you've alluded to both financial harm and (albeit implied) psychological harm, despite going on to state zero risk of either in pursuit of getting this done and dusted. A jibe would have been be 'You're an idiot' or 'you deserve this', but I've said neither, I've simply, if a little harshly, suggested that you're dreaming if you think this will resolve well and without further distress. Hand on heart, I hope that if i were in the same situation as you and posted here, I would receive, recognise the wisdom of, and act on the basis of the same advice you've received 👍

I suspect that, of the above two posts, I would prefer to have been the author of the second 🤔

Wanna be precise about who said that 'cos I can't see any suggestion of it? There's consensus above that you've been badly treated, and I think emerging consensus that you should walk away and thereby limit any potential further harm, be that financial or psychological

Thank you Lawrie. @EddieG, posting in a forum and then suggesting that people whose comments don't align with your views should 'just scroll on' is an interesting approach and perhaps indicative of at least part of the reason you're in this mess in the first place! Anyway, re the first post above, you and Letts are both in monkey traps of your own making. You both need to just let go of things, you can't do much about Letts, but get yourself out now, things won't get any better.

Re first paragraph, you don’t get it do you? Re second paragraph, this was all done 10 years ago. Whatever your motivation for continuing with the farce and posting about doing so, it’s not a public service. You should take him to court, seek full repayment, and whatever the outcome, move on.
