  1. I walk in your shadow Lawrie 👍
  2. So, let me get this straight……? 😆
  3. Assume I’m still allowed to sell?
  4. I’m in, got all the gear I need 👍
  5. I forgot to mention above that the bass is currently equipped with a Badass II and a John East J-Retro, each replacing the original BBOT and passive Jazz circuit in the photos above respectively. I'm happy to put these components into the mix (along with the original components) depending on the deal. Re the component changes, my sense with this bass was that the Jazz and Precision options work really very well with the passive circuit but that the active circuit really brings the 'Ray PUPs to life. Badass as ever is a matter of taste as much as technology 👍
  6. Just the PA to go 😀
  7. Properly loaded 👍
  8. Tonight’s main and spare 👍
  9. Nice one Lawrie, you're a credit to the forum, I'm aiming to do something similar myself in 2024 👍
  10. Sadly I'm starting to agree, I used to see eBay, BC etc as a gear exchange, but with increasingly poor and expensive couriers, persistent scammers, and to a lesser degree a tangible shift towards the negative in the culture of buying and selling used musical gear, I'm feeling much the same way Bloody glad you sold your Bryant though Lawrie, it was causing me sleepless nights
  11. And green 👍 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315036032349?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=5yjhiyh2q4i&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=155UlNbXQGW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  12. Well said 👍
  13. I think I've been quite lucky in that most of the folks I've played with seem able to listen to a rehearsal recording and calibrate it against their and the band's expectations. Where I find it most helpful is in timing, IME most decent musicians can hear pitch problems in real time and respond accordingly but many really struggle to hear rhythmic problems, especially when systemic. But yes, I've been lucky 👍
  14. You the horse or the water Jack 😆
  15. There will always be a bit of this, it's basic (sub) human pecking order stuff, but it's worth finding a way around it either way, and over weeks and months engineering that solution in. For example if his BVs are that bad suggest they record the rehearsals to identify 'areas for improvement'? My (sarcastic) approach to poor vocal pitching has always been "sounds like the band are out of tune with the vocals there, we'll all need to work on that?
  16. A rather nice piece of ebony 👍
  17. Agree 100% with that, how many bands have let a member to go only to find a long list of replacements who were equally if not more problematic. Years ago we replaced a decent and reliable singer with an outstanding singer who sadly lacked the reliability of his predecessor and in doing so turned a minor irritation into a major and ongoing stress (he also came with a habit or two that added to the complications). What would Stephen Stills say......
  18. More details on the PUPs here https://www.sims.guitars/pickups/super-quad A few more pics of the bass Circuit cavity (cover is magnetic so no need for screws to replace battery) Neck LEDs (on note/'fret' of course) Lovely figuring on the neck Headstock
  19. Be honest but kind 👍
  20. That's exactly what I used to use also, great rig 👍
  21. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit 19th Feb Far too many outstanding instruments sitting unsold on this site at present, and with work to do on my studio and a double bass to restore I could use the money tied up in this bass far more effectively at present (it's been pretty much unplayed for 6-months). So, I'm going to offer it for £1000, no trades no PX, ideally collected or handed over in person assuming you're not in Aberdeen (although I'm still happy to post), and on the understanding that if money I'm owed and have been waiting on for a few months comes in I will put the price back up again ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'm looking to sell, PX or trade my last remaining electric bass, a beautiful Enfield Fusion Jazz built by Sims Custom Shop in the UK. Pics below are from original Bass Direct listing i bough this from Bass Direct for £1399 in Oct 2022. Build in terms of design, materials, engineering, and finish are of the absolute highest quality, comfortably at FCS Masterbuild level (anyone who has had a bass refinished by Sims Custom Shop will know just how amazing Martin's finishes are). It has the Sims Super Quad PUPs and Sims neck LEDs. I'll let Martin and colleagues describe/explain the PUPs and circuitry in the videos below, but suffice to say that if you like me, have ever owned a fretless Precision and just occasionally wished that you could tease a slightly more Jaco, Pino, Danko, or Kumalo tone from it, you're gonna like the Fusion! Trade/PX-wise I'll look at pretty much anything EXCEPT an electric bass! Of specific interest would be Double bass (not EUB) Acoustic fretless bass Gibson 6-string acoustic guitar US/Canada-built Mandolin Good quality audio/hifi Some details from people who can explain them far better than I can 👍 I'd prefer collection/meet-up but courier is an option. I'm heading up towards Norfolk first week of Jan and might be heading up North in 2-3 weeks also. Feel free to ask questions in the thread Chris
  22. Keep us posted, better than Eastenders this 👍
  23. Tales me back in a very Dr Seuss way 👍
  24. That’s a lot of bass for the money 👍
  25. With action you could drive a bus under, fret buzz is rather an unlikely side effect anyway, and I'm not sure why a bass being stood for a while would entail the neck being adjusted either. The guy doesn't really know what he's talking about, I'd wait and find one that is trouble free. But if you decide to go anyway, under no circumstances should you take a truss rod adjuster with you to test it, you move it and it breaks you could end up in a tricky situation. Take a very good look at the bass, check out the relief, string gauges and nut slots, have a very good look at the truss rod access (has it clearly been used a lot) and make a judgement call. Fender necks are not immune to being crap - not often but it does happen - and you don't want to land yourself a unusable instrument that's out of warranty. Good luck
