More a member losing a band than a band losing a member, but The Band leaving Ronnie Hawkins and joining Bob Dylan was a pretty decent move all things considered 👍

Used once, put back in the box around this time last year, where unaccountably it stayed, largely I suspect as the result of having replaced an EA Doubler I foolishly sold to @Happy Jack at a moment in time at which I fancied a change 🤔 Anyway, I can't really speak for its quality or versatility but a lot of folks on this forum can apparently, for example £225 plus postage seems fair, in fact pretty damn decent really 👍 \\

Owes me around £650-700 but I'm feeling generous, plus I have some building work to pay for! Body from Dan @d_g originally listed here. Beautifully finished by Dan, it feels old as well as looking old. I've added a reliced Badass !!! that gives it an edge intonation-wise, a rather lovely Squier Cabronita neck that fit's the body like a glove and which is way slimmer and faster than the classic 51/54 necks, and some lovely reverse tuners which IIRC are either Gotoh or Hipshot. It's an interesting instrument, with both PUPs full up it's quite Jazz Bass and can do a decent Precisiony slap/funk, but solo'd it's a different story, with the back PUP giving classic 70's Jazz Bass while the front does everything from lovely mellow bluesy/jazzy thing to grunty rock (think ZZ Top). Kinda looks the part also. I was going to strip it and do a blonde refin for the pure Charlie Tumahei look but time and money are short As you can see, the headstock has worn it's fair share of different tuners 🤔 A1ACF97A-E722-46B8-B745-0FB571E8C489_1_201_a.heic A1ACF97A-E722-46B8-B745-0FB571E8C489_1_201_a.heic A1ACF97A-E722-46B8-B745-0FB571E8C489_1_201_a.heic A1ACF97A-E722-46B8-B745-0FB571E8C489_1_201_a.heic A1ACF97A-E722-46B8-B745-0FB571E8C489_1_201_a.heic A1ACF97A-E722-46B8-B745-0FB571E8C489_1_201_a.heic C1DB8A3F-F94B-4AFC-9238-10FFDE182480_1_201_a.heic

I bought this with a bass on here a while back but prefer an old and very worn MIJ wood neck on that bass. While I really wanted to use this neck to recreate my old Modulus Flea in a budget, I simply don't think it can be done. I think we're all aware of just how good these are, way ahead of the sort of quality you get with Moses graphite and arguably up there with Modulus. Either way extremely stable, no hint of dead spots, and capable of taking ludicrously low action. It's in very good condition, only factors of note are a scratch on the beck of the heel (pictured) which doesn't whole once the neck is mounted, and a very small chip at the truss rod access point, again pictured, but also hard to see. Frets are good, every works as it should. A lovely fast, stable, and rather beautiful neck. No trades or offers thanks, I'm selling it for less than it owes me as it is 🤔

it’s not unusual, I suspect a lot of bands are, in the studio at least, to all intents a solo artist -

That’s ultimately the reality, John’s playing brought these tracks to life, especially The Real Me -

Reminds me sound-wise of the solo album he did late 70s -

Very well done mate 👍 -
For me, Andertons have stepped into the gap left by Thomann who now appear to be defying all cliched thinking about German efficiency. Both Thomann and DV247 appear to have developed some crazy processes since Brexit/lockdown

Easy songs causing trouble. Is it just me?

Easy to overthink these things -
GNR were to my mind pretty mediocre in comparison with EJ. But yes, point taken mate 👍

Indeed, his show was as much about virtuosity as it was history, I’ve had an on/off with his music for 40 years - Philadelphia Freedom yes, Rocket Man no - but f**k me, anyone unimpressed by that performance and show by a 78-year old doesn’t understand live music at all. Not that it means the slightest to him, but Elton I take my hat off to you 🎩
