Mesa Walkabout Scout 15 " Combo Or Mesa Scout Head - *SOLD*
Beedster replied to bagsieblue's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
There is something special about Mesa tone, irrespective of format. I've owned a lot of their models from the Bass 400, Buster, Venture, Walkabout, M-Pulse 600, Big Block 750, Titan v12, Prodigy and now, and perhaps my favourite of all, the Carbine M6 (in fact my relationship with Mesa reads more like dating to be honest). The key for me is in their name; 'Mesa Engineering', Mesa gear is just so well designed and so well engineered, not just the circuits, but everything, even the boxes (never drop a Mesa amp or cab unless you're prepared to sacrifice whatever it was you dropped it on, in my case the back end of an Audi estate that received the full force of a 1516 one side of which our singer dropped as we were putting it in the back). Of all the brands I feel a loyalty in music, I pout Mesa at the top, and that's helped a lot by the fact that @agedhorse is always here to advise and support. Frankly if I had £500 to spare I'd be dating that Walkabout 😀 -

Defo twin Precision single coils 👍 -
Random is good and interesting. My daughters often use my Apple account to listen to music and so when I play things on that account randomly I often find myself listening to music that I wouldn't usually listen to, and without the biases introduced by knowing which performer or radio station I'm listening to. It's amazing how many songs by people such as Justin Beiber are actually pretty damn good if you don't now they're by Justin Bieber before you first listen to them 🤔

I don't think The Beatles have the sort of status they had 20 years ago to be honest, Sgt Pepper as "The greatest album of all time" etc. I think time has been quite hard on a number of their albums, and while they had some incredible songs, increasingly their status is seen as a function of their era and their cultural and artistic contributions to it as opposed to inherent musical qualities. I've Got a Feeling remains in my Top-10 of all time however Now that Mozart, he's a different kettle of fish altogether

I bought this from the USA a while back intending to build it up but as the result of a recent house move and a whole lot of decking, sheds, fences and walls to repair I'm probably not going to get around to it, so up for grabs here for what I paid on eBay. It's used but in decent condition, and is super-light at 4lbs 7oz. No joke, when the courier handed me the box I thought the seller had forgotten to put the body in, it weighs just over 60% of a Precision body I'm also going to list. If you know Warmoth quality, you know you want this Trades? WHYG? Cheers Chris

BBC4 now for some awesome upright playing
Beedster replied to Beedster's topic in General Discussion
Yep, all a bit safe wasn't it. I used to date a sculptress and she said that get any recognition in her art you had to be able to do fingers, irrespective of your creative vision. BassBoy did fingers well I think 👍 -

Perhaps the BBC should do an X-Factor and put all the contestants in the one band 👍 Nice point about the physical limitations of the instrument, there's always that risk isn't there that we're impressed by the overcoming of these as much by the music itself (although having said that, it's probably true of many instruments, certainly I suspect of slap on electric bass). What I noticed was how clear and well-articulated each and every one of his notes appeared to be; OK some of that might be the quality of the room and the audio engineering, but he seemed to achieve a clarity of tone that to my mind is rare. Despite the physical limitations of the instrument -
Public liability versus indemnity insurance for gigs
Beedster replied to Beedster's topic in General Discussion
Thanks guys, it seems odd that the venue wants evidence of indemnity cover and not public liability cover, it's a wedding BTW, Having said that, as per @Burns-bass post we are pretty rubbish so perhaps indemnity is more relevant 🤔 -
Can anyone explain the difference, we have a venue requiring indemnity cover apparently apparently indicating PL is not sufficient?
