  1. On iPhone it's apparent, on desktop fine BTW
  2. Hey @Woodinblack, when i hit 'Submit Reply' it hangs, might just be me, appear to have made a couple of double posts because of it 👍
  3. This And this
  4. And courtesy Radio 6 I was introduced to this version this morning, and once again, the bass came across beautifully
  5. Absolutely, and feel different, and both are important for many players and builders 👍

  7. Mmm, you don’t think that Sadowsky, as someone who charges premium prices for his products in part on the basis of building using certain woods, might have a horse in this particular race?
  8. To a bass player no two basses sound the same, to an audience all basses sound the same. Anyone who gets into the tone wood argument needs to accept that it’s equivalent to the ‘eskimos have 13 different types of snow’ argument. Possibly true, but either way, it’s all snow.
  9. Sympathy for the Devil 👿
  10. More than a few folks on here have been bloody kind to me over the years, so if I can help someone out at a difficult time I’m more than happy to 👍
  11. As was I 😆 Hope all’s well mate 👍
  12. That's different though mate, having nothing to do with audio quality and everything to do with originality which - in the antiques world which is really where the collectable end of the bass spectrum resides - is rare and therefore costly. Point taken though 👍
  13. This was a very useful thread 👍
  14. A similar finding to wine experts who, when various wines are chilled to the same temperature, can struggle to differentiate red from white apparently
  15. Beautiful, seems to sit somewhere between Fender, Musicman, and - dare I say - Wal 👍
  16. Fender fit Jazz neck that is 👍
  17. If you mess it up it's too late. Seriously though, you won't, at least as long as you buy a Fender-fit neck which all of those I've listed above are
  18. I've swapped hundred of Fender, Allparts, Squier, Warmoth, Mighty Mite, Musikraft and similar necks over the years and have not once had to use sandpaper. All the brands fit each others necks/bodies within tolerable tolerances. There will be some exceptions and some imperfections, but they are few and far between and rarely affect either tone or mechanics
  19. Yes, it will work 99% of the time without modification, with the possible exception of small adjustments to saddle height and potentially intonation
  20. The research all looks legit, but these days, with the proliferation of pay to publish journals, so does everything. As if to prove this fact, my most recent paper "Is it good for metal: a quantitative analysis of resonance patterns in pointy, classic, and hybrid bass guitar headstocks in late 80's rock" is upcoming in the International Journal of Very Important Science. Copies available in request
  21. No it doesn't, no more than a library argues for the validity of any one of the books on its shelves
