  1. I didn't realise that Luke, that interesting, and those Alphers look bloody amazing, I'm just not sure they'd look so amazing slung around me
  2. Re prog I was slightly tongue in cheek with reference to another thread, but there are time where the time signature changes sound decidedly prog even in some of their later stuff
  3. Hey mate, only just read the top part, hope all's OK, I was wondering where this had gone only the other day. The neck is an absolute dream, without doubt the best bass neck I've owned or even played. Warmoth know how to make a decent neck
  4. Thanks mate, yes they were apparently stupid money when released, there's no way I'd be buying this bass new, but I remember think at the time "To all intents it's just a 50's SC Precision with an extra PUP, what's all the fuss?", and then thinking "Actually I imagine that's a pretty good combination. I read a couple of posts on TB by guys who'd modded their SC Precisions similarly and seemed quite happy with the results so the idea stuck. And frankly the used price wasn't much more that standard US Precisions are going for these days......... In my quest for something with two PUPs but a little out of the ordinary (I've fallen out of love with P/J and never was much of one for J/J anyway) I was also having a good long look at this bass, but over and above being less than impressed by the shop selling it, realised that it lacked a PUP in the all important sport. So I think I made the right choice
  5. @Ed_S you get the prize I came very close to buying one a few years back when I was looking for a bass with twin singe coils (and was thinking of installing a pair of those Nordy SCs in Jazz Bass cases and install in a Jazz body, but I couldn't get the PUPs in the UK at the time so gave up). The bridge doesn't work for me so I'm going to find something a little more Fender. It ticks a lot of the boxes I wanted ticked in an electric bass at present, bit of a gamble but c'est la via ......
  6. Rock without the theatrics sums them up to a degree
  7. About 60 secs in, those are proper power chords aren't they?
  8. No, but I did have a good look at a few though, as I did with Bravewood and Limelight.....
  9. I think there's a degree of the subconscious will involved also
  10. Ha ha, no not even sure I've seen that. It's very consistent with my previous bass history just an interesting detour that, when I checked, didn't appear to have gained approval
  11. Nope, it was almost a Ric, and I might wish it had been, but it’s not. Good guess thiugh mate 👍
  12. Love that photo, that's how a live rock band should look 👍
  13. I've been playing DB exclusively for the last year, and haven't had an electric since Feb this year. But my old band is reforming for a couple of gigs and I need an electric for that, ans wanting to record some EB also thought it about time that I got an electric again. So, I've been looking for about 6-weeks and have seen a few that i like, and had a few conversations with sellers, but nothing was really sealing the deal. Until yesterday, when a bass popped up that I knew the moment I saw it was the bass for me. So I did some research, and Google led me to Basschat where... 1. There was a 5-page thread describing what a terrible bass it is and 2. I had on more than one occasion been rather critical of the manufacturer I've just got the feeling it's going to be awesome. I'll update once I know
