  1. Thanks Paddy, might give them a go, a couple of guys on TB have commented that they're worth a look also 👍
  2. Probably exceeded it's intended usefulness, useful in a whole different way now......
  3. I went to a boys school where nearly the entire population recognised and worshipped Lemmy. The girls who I knew at the time were very much into Japan and could recognise Mick Karn albeit as the second most important band member. I'd say that the most recognisable bass player of that era was however Nick Beggs, largely as the result of him getting quite a lot of visual real estate on TOTP (mostly hair-related) and the fact that people were aware that the rhythmic percussive sound he was making was the result of abusing playing a bass guitar
  4. Not sure they’d do much better with guitarists, likely Sheeran and Swift would top the list as people most photographed with guitars round their neck
  5. I sincerely hope that she puts Mr H at the top of the list 👍
  6. That's pretty shocking given.... 1. They had one of the most iconic bass players ever (hey, he has a Sig....) 2. People here often say they aspire to JJB's tone 3. They wrote some awesome songs and produced some incredible albums 4. BC members generally like Prog?
  7. Blu De Tiger See what I did there 👍
  8. You’ve overdone it by about 6 Tim 👍
  9. Jaco is forgivable, I played with a drummer who’d never heard of Paul McCartney, who is probably the most broadly famous bass player in the planet?
  10. What I will say about the Fusion is that while it's extremely robust with a lot of padding, my standard 4-string Jazz Bass appears only just to fit with most of the padding removed. Precision and Stingray are both fine, just seems that the offset body shape has thrown the bag a curve ball that puts the headstock very close to end end of the bag and relatively unprotected by comparison with the level of protection in other parts of the bag. I'm pretty sure there would be a wide variety of basses that would not fit. https://www.fusion-bags.com/collections/guitar-and-bass-gig-bags/products/fg-double-electric-bass-guitar-gig-bag
  11. It's an immensely impressive collection by any standard, even by the standards of immensely impressive collections, but certainly seems to veer firmly in the direction of what I've always thought of - rightly or wrongly - the Eurobass side of things. I'm a luddite Brit at heart, I like a Precision, if pushed a Jazz, if really pushed a Wal or a Ric. Despite that massive collection, it was the beautiful '70 Precision that caught my eye the most. Sorry Tony As an aside, I'll never forget - because it was so unexpected and inappropriate - what a musician said to me when he saw me with a Yamaha TRB-6 around my neck. Made me realise that 4 strings and Leo-designed is where my soul resides
  12. I was going to say you could have mine FOC but also a Precision neck, and to be honest, I suspect you'd probably not like it much either!
  13. Not sure I get what you mean? EDIT Ah yes I do, nothing deliberate Tony, I think i just had BC fatigue at the wrong moment and was on the phone and out so failed to see them all 👍
  14. Bart MK will fit, any opinions? https://bartolini.net/application/mk/
  15. I'm hoping Fender see it and offer me a Beedster Sig model 😄
  16. Folks This recently made its way to Beedsters Home for Abused Basses. It's a lovely old bit of wood in the shape of a Jazz Bass that someone has really gone to town on, routing new PUP cavities with what appears to have been some form of agricultural machinery. Installed PUPs are a pair of Ibanez EXP-4s which I suspect I'm not going to get along with too well. I'm going to tidy things up and then I'd quite like to put in something PUP-wise that will be different to a Precision or Jazz. It's going to have a fretless neck and I can experiment with a J-Retro also. Present PUP size is 11cm x 3.5cm. Suggestions welcome
  17. I had a double J-PUP at the bridge on a bass a few years back and never liked it, didn't have a lot of life, bit too close to the bridge I expect?
  18. I noticed that also, in his defence he has been equally rude to me under both usernames
  19. Spoke to Tim at East Street today, I love it when someone sounds keen to do the work despite being busy, and makes everything really simple. Thanks for the recommendation folks
  20. I've got a Roscoe that's small enough to go on my back and is only marginally bigger than a single bass bag and a Fusion that is about the same size as Luxembourg 👍
  21. I’ve got two twin bags, one very big and tough, one less so, couldn’t live without them 👍
