  1. I do not like GB but if you do, why move away?
  2. Good stuff. As per the above, getting a high power tube head checked by a tech, ideally before buying it, is a good shout. Glad it worked out OK
  3. Likewise, email saying 'You are no longer allowed......." was quickly followed by emails offering me all sorts of benefits, zero selling fees etc, if I'd just take a few minutes to give them my bank details. eBay was such a great idea but has lost its way terribly and become just another cynical money machine. It's become a nightmare to use as a private seller, but I rarely use it even for buying these days as increasingly, at least in my experience, too many of the remaining private sellers there are either unable or unwilling to be honest about what they're selling. Despite the 'eBay always protects the buyer' mantra, it's creates a massive headaches to have to fight to get the type of refund that is automatic and immediate with, for example, Amazon.
  4. Really, there are people who say that bass is rubbish? And they’re being fuelled by this guy? I had no idea the world was such a dangerous place
  5. Been a lot warmer and more humid here recently, and quite suddenly, it can play havoc with instruments
  6. Yep, it sure ain't like it used to be is it Lawrie
  7. Yep, there are plenty on YouTube who are far less proficient who take it far more seriously
  8. And would a Placebo tribute be nothing more than a sham? I guess Placebo Placebo.....?
  9. Kent's finest exponents of Celtic Soul, Bexley's Midnight Runners
  10. Let me spell it out for you C-H-E-E-S-E-A-N-D-O-N-I-O-N
  11. If there isn't there should be
  12. Steve 'n' Seagulls are defo one of my fave You Tube watches, that they're from Finland and not Alabama only adds to the joy
  13. Very nice calm transaction with Bas, calmness especially appreciated when it transpired that the power supply for the MPC hadn't made it to him, and he was very patient while we sorted it. Great guy to deal with, I'm sure we'll do it again some day Chris
  14. And IIRC again, Marcus of this parish used to be in a Geordie version called the Reet Hot Chili Peppers
  15. Lightweight gear. Just a fad, it will pass
  16. Not the Hoople and Jeff Leppard are exactly the type of totally daft band names I was looking for when I started this thread, keep 'em coming IIRC there's a Bagpipe band called the Red Hot Chili Pipers
  17. I love the Eagles, but CCR, especially their earlier stuff, had a whole lot of soul that the more clinically recorded Eagles songs don't have. I think the Eagle wrote better songs, but CCR played better music
  18. Gibson flipping things again
