  1. Apologies Dave, I was being a facetious, given the rate of infection at present, and given that no-one knows their own immunity, I'd not be taking any risks, and rehearsals are a risk. We live at the top of a road, no joke, the infection appears to be making its way up the street at present. Even the most conservative scientists are saying there will be a massive explosion of it over Xmas. As a family, we're staying very locked down.
  2. Guess it depends on how good your immune system is? If you're immune to COVID, keep rehearsing.
  3. Well I don't think the turn this thread took is down to me Ped, and I'm guessing given how quickly mods delete post and close threads elsewhere on this forum, you and the mods were happy for it to run?
  4. Alex, that would have been a better first response at the time. I don't think this thread has really helped anyone, I won't have any objection if you want this thread hidden (others might however), because I don't want to damage your business, or your's, your employees' or your family's wellbeing.
  5. I can live with that Ped
  6. He wasn't insulting the forum Ped, he was insulting the people who'd responded to the thread. And yes, like I'm an ex-Eurosender customer, I will soon be a proud ex-Barefaced owner. Doubt Alex will care one way or the other, and why should he? Oh that's why, I'm a customer, I spent around £3k with Barefaced over the years, and I guess my selling my Super Twin now is one less he'll sell. To be honest, i should have simply sent back the poorly finished unit they sent me and demanded they fix and put feedback on here.
  7. On which basis I'm selling my Super Twin and buying a big, old and heavy Mesa Boogie cab with the cash
  8. OK, got me there EBS-F...?
  9. Stew, I get your sentiment But is he doesn't like criticism or comment, perhaps he shouldn't read it then, he can stick to Talkbass. I've supported his gear all along on BC but following this morning's response I reread the emails between the two of us after I cut a chunk out of my finger and it was much the same as today, fired off a very rude response pretty much suggesting it was my fault, then backtracked and tried to get the sympathy vote with stress/family etc. In this morning's comment, he perhaps failed to recognise that most of the people on this thread had at one time or another promoted his products, in my case constantly. I'm sorry Stew, but he's in business, business is a cold hard world. If he doesn't have the temperament for criticism, he should stay off the internet and let someone else do it for him. Alternatively he could learn from the approach of people such as @agedhorse in addressing far more challenging criticism of Mesa Boogie earlier this year, in recognising that the opinions of people matter, whether they are or are not likely to buy the unit in question, and in building a positive emotional response from people, not alienating them. He's now put himself with me emotionally where John Hall put himself with many, all of a sudden I feel less positive about the gear he made that i own.
  10. This is why I still come here
  11. I think you're probably right
  12. This also made me smile, everyone else is playing just an instrument, you're playing a '63 Fender Precision. Good man
  13. I don't disagree with the logic, but buying isn't a logical thing
  14. But all bassists need amps, tend to own more than one, and tend to switch between them more than is needed, i.e., by novelty and choice not necessity. I might be in the minority but I don't know many bass players who use small pedals these days, many have moved to products like Helix etc. I think with BF brand association, an amp would have made more sense. Time will tell.
  15. Agreed, Alex did a great job or side tracking what would have been a decent thread and probably good PR for him
  16. What a silly post, people were objecting to Alex coming on as he did, you go and slap your missus as you put it, I'll just object when a manufacturer is rude to his customers who were having a pretty normal discussion.
  17. Did you mean to suggest that you haven't played though it Stew?
  18. Lucky it's not a drum FX, there'd be some real problems in user terminology
  19. Let's be clear about this, it WAS about the Machinist until Alex waded in, so how about you rewrite that as 'Alex, this thread is about the Machinist"?
  20. Well, it could be read as such given his earlier "screw the customer" approach
  21. And you really think saying what you said will help? Everyone is in the same boat at present Alex, most of us have kids and sleepless nights about where the next salary check is coming from, but I don't see other manufacturers coming on here slagging off what was actually a set of largely constructive comments?
  22. I fixed the corner piece myself BTW so it wont rip your hand apart now
  23. None if us have to deal with stinky poo at present do we.
