  1. Looks better than last time I saw him
  2. I love the BC 'Why so many......?" threads, because they identify what is usually a completely random chain of events event and turn it into a accepted phenomenon
  3. Hey mate, hope all's well, there was plenty of everything on tap, I'm not sure that graphite is any colder sounding than wood, just perhaps more able to zing at the top end a bit more.
  4. This is without doubt one of the nicest necks I've ever played
  5. So that’s the 50s and 70s boxes ticked, 60s, 80s and 90s anyone
  6. You’re gonna put a whole generation of statisticians out of business
  7. Not the way either the journalists or the government are representing it! All fair points mate, especially in relation to cancelled treatments, but that's the Catch 22 isn't it, if we get back to normal, there's the risk that the cancellation rate will become more serious. I guess going back to the O/P, I still won't be either gigging or drinking in pubs for the foreseeable either way
  8. Thanks for the reply mate. Re deaths, hope those figures are the way things stay. I think what’s confounding them however is that whilst deaths are lower than March, hospital admissions are higher, putting greater strain on the healthcare systems. The people being admitted are perhaps less vulnerable than in March and whilst NHS is apparently saving more of them from COVID, the knock-on effect on the treatment of other conditions is probably greater than March/April. This I think is why transmission has to be stamped on now. EDIT Just noticed the admissions line on the above appears to disagree with the data I saw earlier, which I guess says it all about the data that's out there at present. Not easy to know whose data to trust?
  9. That's the thing, I have (by the standards of other people, and I had one of your ex's for quite a while also), I guess that I don't get blown away the same way others do. Perhaps it's a case that for me the majority of them doing the job so well that there is limited headroom in which any greatness can operate?
  10. Although......... I'm not sure how 'great' a Precision can ever truly be. I've owned about 30 I'd guess over the years, and played many more, and whilst a Precision will always be my number 1 bass, I don't get the idea tat they're ever 'great'. I see them as being a tool that is usually perfect for the job. Some perhaps make the job easier and others make it bloody hard, I just think they do what they do. I owned the Pino Precision for a while, folks kept saying "Wow, what a great bass", but to me it was just one of the instruments that made the job easier. The basses I've had that I'd say are great would be the Modulus Flea, Wal Mk1, Ric 4001 C64 and, possibly the Takamine B10. YMMV
  11. Nice one, you might have to do some jiggery pokery with the saddle as on a rightly the one you need will be treble side. I'll post pics once I've found them mate
  12. That was not the most effusive of posts was it Jack, I saw it and assumed coded message to Ped. Anagram competition anyone
  13. I've got a full set of those somewhere mate, I replaced them with a grooved set, give me a day or two and I'll sort it. Chris
  14. IME there’s good precision’s, average precision’s, mediocre precision’s and awful precision’s, there’s some that are toppy, some are middy, some even a bit boomy. But it’s across the board, in the new batch you’ll get all of the above. Build consistency is improving, but there’s only so much you can do with a 70 year old design, two bits of wood and some bits of metal. Price these days shows how gullible we are when it comes to marketing and PR
  15. Bass is probably fine, seller probably not. You need both to be good to press the button
  16. Every single pre 1980 Fender I’ve owned has smelled pretty funky, open the case and there’s a mix of lacquer, fags, beer, sweat and, well other stuff. First sign I would have of fake is absence of funk
  17. They only get stung if they don’t know what they’re doing and don’t use PayPal, you’d hope that with a bid at that level that that they do and will
