  1. Re nutrition, given the complex and very wide ranging roles of protein in the body, if you were so deficient that your nails were weak you’d have a whole lot of more serious problems to deal with, despite what the internet might say. Like bones, hair, teeth etc, density varies from person to person, so if you’re at the low end, you probably need more help than extra protein.
  2. Bought from Thomann late last year it is literally unused, still with original packaging etc. Great piece of kit but for some reason I seem to prefer either to play through an amp or unplugged. Link here, it really is as new. Price includes fully insured courier. https://www.thomann.de/gb/phil_jones_mobile_bass_amp_ha_1.htm Cheers Chris
  3. Yep, that's the start of the collection right there. I justify multiple basses via the same logic (Precision with flats, one with rounds, an FL with flats, an FL with rounds, might need a Jazz, make that four........ What about a Stingray.....?). Be careful mate, you are about to set foot on a very slippery slope
  4. Great news by the way, social media is increasingly making it harder for people to steal and sell on. Nice to see an upside to social media also
  5. Must admit I'm tempted to use Superglue, I grow my right hand nails to play acoustic and they then break the moment I start playing bass again. I wonder if there's any risks (although given Superglue was apparently developed for surgical purposes I'm guessing not, or at least low)?
  6. I used to use paint on nail strengthener from high street pharmacy. Does the job just fine
  7. All four non-singers in my band carried an SM58 on account of our singist’s perpetual failure to bring a mic to gigs
  8. I’ll say it again, why’s it always the drummist? Or the......
  9. Our drummist turned up to a recording session without any sticks. The manager thought it a good idea to go out into the woods and find a solution. I will never forget the moment she stood there, holding up two drumstick length twigs, saying ‘will these do’? To his credit, drummist gave it a go. Four hours later we started the recording having found a local percussionist happy to lend us his sticks. Why’s it always the drummist? Or the singer? Or the guitarist?
  10. Drummer turning up without his cajon sounds like the best outcome for me Jack.
  11. Without wishing to distract from the sales thread (my apologies Tom) I wish there were more such discussion here mate, it’s informative, often builds confidence among potential buyers, and in the odd occasion when it doesn’t, is probably saving at least one member a great deal of hassle. In this case, and to my mind, the discussion has made the item for sale more attractive
  12. If you use PayPal and pay via Reverb you’re fine
  13. Reverb is great BUT it can be frustrating as a buyer as it’s a little more laid back than eBay. Not unusual to buy something, pay for it and not hear from the seller for quite a while. I bough a guitar there a while back and got a refund because the seller said ‘it’s not a great time for me to send, might be a few weeks’. I’d take that on BC from someone I know, but not From a seller I don’t on a dedicated sales forum!
  14. I know, it's unexpected isn't it! Mine was very nice and felt authentically vintage at a time when Fender tended to churn out instruments covered in heavy and very un-vintage coat of, I assume, poly. I think it was more authentically vintage feeling than the subsequent and numerous relic series also. It was also very light. If only I liked Jazz Basses
  15. I've probably got one for sale somewhere mate Have a great evening Andy, imagine it's well deserved and long overdue for you both
  16. Imagine if we all got sober, the FS forums would dry up in days
  17. Have to say the third video clip was WAY better and did demonstrate musicality for sure. Bach and Jaco made me cringe though, sounded like they were played by a machine
  18. I'm happy to never hear any more of the kid bassist who can certainly play fast but certainly can't play either in tune or with any musicality, it's just not entertainment. But I am SO looking forward to more from BassicBbBlues/Basslover
  19. Thanks guys, much like the above, I have more FLs than any man can reasonably justify at the moment (three, four if you include my EUB). I'd love to keep it but I prefer the flexibility of my Fender-fit bitsas on which I can mix and match necks and bodies as the mood takes me - four bodies, four necks, it's like having 16 basses In response to a few PMs I can courier this as I have some very strong boxes and packaging. Chris
