    Absolutely, SK is a far visually than sonically, appealing configuration. The Jazz Bass tone that everyone talks about is VVT

    Learning a few new RHCP songs, and getting into some post JFv2/pre JFv3 songs on the post Stadium Arcadium albums that had previously passed my by. Have to say that thing that really stands out for me is that Flea’s slap tone appears very crude by comparison with earlier albums, especially in The Getaway, and that the lines themselves are nothing like as well conceived. Am I missing something, because I know a few folks here rate the album in question?

    Thanks Luke, sign of the times I guess mate. I keep going around in circles on it to be honest, one minute I think I should never have bought such as expensive bass given that I already had a fretless Jazz (and one better suited to me because it has a fat neck whilst the '68 has a very thin neck), the next minute I can't believe my luck to own such a dream instrument. The more I play it the more I want to keep it, so I'm keeping it firmly locked in its case at the moment. I'm going to list it on eBay this evening, so to avoid the stress of that I'd welcome cash offers in the meantime

    Lovely lovely Precision, selling as I have too many of them and this one has a 40mm nut which is just a little too small for me. Some more details in this thread Tone wise it's a cracker, back PUP was a real surprise. Built like a tank also. Proper 1970s MIJ workmanship. Having to spend the weekend installing a new bathroom so being brief. Will reply to any specific questions about the bass in the thread.
