1. In his defence however, he has had the instrument referred, which is probably a good thing.
2.
And why has he made such a pig's ear of the dot markers on the neck?
.....perhaps because he was still upset and angry about the complete mess he made of aligning the tuners....?
3. You may need flip more than strings and nut Rob, although it'll depend which model you buy; the bridge is asymmetrical on some models, the extensions to enable the player to stabilise the instrument - without which they can be quite challenging especially for a beginner - might also be on the wrong side, and you might need to check access to controls also. But once you go to EUB you get to DB and then there's no going back! Good luck Chris
4. I could use this gone really, I've decided I don't need it and I'm trying to re-organise the studio, so it's now sitting in the house getting in the way. Lots of interest but no action so far
5. First impression was of woodworm. There is a school of thought that no two instruments age alike, and that it is possible that a real example looking exactly like this exists. But I doubt it.
6. I think a new board on a neck that already works for you is a risk and an expense too far. I had a fretless ebony board put on a Precision neck a while back and it never sang as well as it had with the old, albeit worn out, fretless rosewood board. I don't think it was a bad job, just that for some reason it changed the response of the instrument in a way I didn't really care for. It could have been the mass, density, depth or even simply the surface of the new board, but either way, I wish I'd left it as it was. Lovely looking neck all the same walbassist
7. Selling as I suspect I'm too much of a plug and play guy to have the patience to ever work well with something as gloriously versatile as this. I also hoped the kids might engage one day but frankly, it's a long way off! Currently on sale at Thomann for £1950 https://www.thomann....aha_s_70_xs.htm the sale price is over 50% down* especially when you factor in the very sturdy gig bag worth around £100 plus two Yamaha pedals. Reviews abound e.g., http://www.musicrada...ha-s70xs-253819 and http://www.keyboardm...eyboards/27587. In terms of functionality and performance, I can't really provide much more than that to be honest, but I'm assuming that if you're reading this you know what you're looking at. Trade wise a nice Precision always appeals, and I've only got the four at present so plenty of room. Acoustic instruments are always of interest (no bagpipes or lutes please). Happy to discuss terms.......... Cheers Chris * DISCLAIMER: I'm not suggesting Thomann are necessarily the cheapest
8. Halfway between marker pen and new board is wood dye; many DB boards are blonde but dyed to look like they're a darker (and more expensive) wood. Go careful!
9. Bump for remaining necks and bodies, courier collecting a load of stuff from my place tomorrow so get in now and they could be yours by Thursday!
10. You know the deal with these! Cost me £125 but think I'll stick with the Nordies I'm using. £50 off new price Cheers Chris
11.
I recognise that blue PJ Jazz body! The pickguard is from Tim at Scratchit!

It's a stunning body built up, really resonant also
And now sold
12.
How much is the Squier P neck, if it's still available? And is it skinny or a baseball bat?
Far from baseball bat John, too thin for me by far, narrow and flat, probably 40mm max but can check. £50?
