I'm going to be adding to this thread over the next couple of days and adding more photos as I go. I've built rather large collection of bitsas, mostly quality instruments, but which I don't really gig anymore, so aware that you rarely get back anything like what you put into them either financially or in terms of time, I'm breaking them all for parts. Some of the parts are to all intents unused. All prices include insured/signed for postage via Royal Mail Special Delivery. The prices are all very good and this stuff will sell quickly given this, so no haggling or offers please! So, for starters........ [s]East J-Retro pre-amp (boxed and little used). Flat response, the classic Jazz pre. Solderless version bought new mid 2015. £125[/s] SOLD [s]ACG/East 02 pre-amp. £100[/s] SOLD You WILL need a soldering iron, but it'll be worth it to install a phenomenal filter-based pre amp [s]Fender S1 Jazz Bass circuit, control plate and knobs. £30[/s] SOLD [s]Seymour Duncan Custom Shop Weather Report Jazz Bass PUPs (boxed and little used). £125[/s] SOLD [s]Di Marzio DP122 Precision PUP (boxed). Slight damage to case although not visible when installed[/s]. £30 SOLD [s]Di Marzio DP149 Jazz Bass PUPs (boxed). £60[/s] SOLD Badass III bridge. Nice condition. £80 Smaller footprint that the model II, string through option as well. Badass I bridge. Seen better days but few bridges do bridging as well as this bridge . £40 A monster. Ugly, heavy but effective. Previous owner made a bad job of aligning the grooves so I had to reverse the E saddle. Works fine, and doubles the weight of your bass within minutes. Jazz Bass pickguard aged white. £20 Jazz Bass pickguard aged tort. £20 [s]Allparts Jazz Bass neck. Maple board, bound with black blocks & tuners. £100[/s] SOLD [s]Warmoth Jazz Bass neck (fretless). Rosewood board with tuners. £100[/s] SOLD [s]Jazz Bass body (Greco IIRC, either way mid 70's Japanese). 70's PUP spacing. Lovely aged natural finish. £90[/s] SOLD [s]Jazz Bass body (generic, hand finished in Danish oil at Beedster Custom Shop and rather attractive). 60's PUP spacing. £60[/s] SOLD Chris

Folks, I've had a lot of enquires about posting this but having just checked the amount of bubble wrap and card packaging required (whilst a stick bass, it's actually quite deep in that the horizontal distance from the back of the scroll to the bottom of the fingerboard is over 30cms) and assessed the likelihood that I would need to take it apart before posting to ensure that the bridge, end-piece and tuners survive, plus £50 odd to post it, I think it's simply a no-goer, sorry. Everyone meet Clarkson, Clarkson, meet everyone
On the Eminence, the T-shaped bit on the bottom of the endpin allows for slight side to side movement It doesn't swivel at all, but the sideplay is enough for the player to "dance" as much as you'd normally need to with a DB There's actually no risk of the Eminence swiveling like the Stagg can do The Eminence also has a small wooden plug in T shaped device, to rest the bass against your body This works rather better than those odd wire assemblies on the Stagg although due to the general stability of the Eminence, I wouldn't be worried if I'd got to a gig and had forgotten it. The Eminence also comes with a stand, which you can play the bass on This is useful for gigs where you're doubling up with bass guitar too.... Making switching between the 2 much quicker. Beedster, I just wondered how much risk of swiveling there was with Clarkson, but as you say, its' mass probably stops this risk occuring I just wondered whether you'd have more peace of mind if you had some sideframe thingys fitted? I recall one gig with my Stagg, where the stage seemed fine to everyone else, but my Stagg EUB just kept moving! I don't know what sort of polish the proprietors of the venue had used on it.... lol
I rehearsed this recently and actually after an hour or so the potential to spin didn't worry me, and I found I didn't even need to use my leg to lock it in place as I used to do when I gigged it. It could certainly benefit from a fake top bout, but as it's now for sale I'll let the next owner worry about that -

OK, here's the promised bad stuff! There are a few screws holding front to back together at the endpin. These face the back of the bass and could easily be painted over if it worried you. This bass has had some SERIOUS abuse and there has never been any movement at the endpin This is what the endpin goes into, and it doesn't allow much adjustment. I have cut my endpin to length so that the top end sits against the interior of the cavity. This means I can't adjust the length of the endpin, but that it's always set (and set solidly) for my playing height. I will provide a spare endpin so that the buyer can likewise set the height for themselves. Several questions about PUPs. I will throw in either a Kent Armstrong mag PUP (mounts at end of fingerboard) that works but needs some tidying up, or a wing PUP. On this bass I'd recommend the former to be honest
No, not at all. I'm white, English, but I really like Bob Marley's work. It was probably Marley's work that brought reggae to the UK and I respect his influence. Full respect to him and all those who've followed. I imagine, also that there are Beatles influences everywhere too. What I am saying is I don't know how either have influenced Asia, Australia, South America, much of the USA.... the list goes on. Enjoy! Edit. Didn't the Rolling Stones do a reggae number or two as well - that will be through Bob Marley's influence. This is a big question. I don't think anyone can really give a definitive answer.
Stones did some almost reggae with the likes of Peter Tosh and IIRC Sly and Robbie. I like it, probably not for the purists however

You know the score with these. Small, light and very very good at what they do. Now using PA for everything so this is no longer needed.
