Photos aren't great but the screwheads suggest that neck's been on and off the bass a few times, which could mean anything of course, but provides little reason for him to argue that removing the neck to prove the date stamp could damage the original screws/threads etc (the excuse I was given a few years back). Anyway, it's all a shot in the dark on the evidence provided. He doesn't seem keen to give any more details than he has or book inspections (he added extra information to the thread that simply repeated the previous details). He might not really know himself if it's truly a '62, would be the first guy to won and play an instrument for years only to find they were sold a ringer in 1978. Either way, I get the sense he's trying to keep people interested - and potentially start an eBay bidding war - without any bidders actually knowing what they're bidding on? There's a bid of £2800 on it at present which is perhaps a nice final price if it's a real - albeit far from original - '62, but a hell of a lot of cash for fugazi. Interested to see how this one pans out 🤫

Mighty Mite necks are a whole lot better proportioned that that fugly thing, that looks like one of the rather cheap (£30) items that are sold from China via eBay. I've got one (not on purpose), it's not a bad neck for £30, but it has that same rather plump headstock

Anyone else see Scooby Doo 😆

Not on a Precision 👍

Top of headstock is also oversized

I had a few bows on trial a while back and despite playing bows that retailed at over £1500 preferred one at a quarter of that price, or at least couldn't hear or feel a difference between the two that would warrant my paying four times more than I did

‘Small’… 🤔

A better account ..... I will be posting some pics of some big boxes by Mesa among others tomorrow

Parcel Monkey lost my 1516, as I said at the time, not unlike losing a planet 😆

This is the look I aim for when gigging.... Given this is how I currently look.... ....I also have to do a lot of cosmetic work ahead of gigs 👍 -
But wow, if you do have the problem this things really does solve it. Of the two, I kinda preferred the SLB-100 to play, the the 200 is so much easier to get from A-B and IIRC also sounded a little more authentic (while the 100 was very much a silent practice instrument, I got the sense that Yamaha had a keen eye on gigging with the 200). Beautiful instrument and hard to come by these days 👍

How is that solo project going Paul -
Mmm, I suspect they'd be the best judge of that though, if business is working despite the iffy tech, why change the tech (hell, they get free advertising on BC in threads such as this every three months because of it)?

.... and don't share your sense of humour -
Ah, I assumed BassBros had a physical presence, if they are virtual only then yes, ignore my post 👍 But either way, I had the same problem as the OP with BB a while back and while they got back in touch after I messaged (I think by WhatsApp having been given that steer here), the fact that messages weren't being picked up did kinda put me off selling my bass through them, it just slightly sniffs of poor organisation/customer care. I had some similar problems with The Gallery a while back but at least in their defence it's a physical shop 👍

Well in all fairness the seller does say 'pickguard', but yes, not cheap. Lucky you didn't book a ferry

You should see him before botox though Jack 👍 -
During/following lockdown we had to go 'tech-enabled' for a while and I have to say that while I agree with the idea that businesses should know this stuff, I was surprised at just how hard it can be to make the necessary changes. Specifically, we had some tech developed that while lovely on paper, client use demonstrated had a couple of less than optimal features. These took a long time and a lot of cash to sort to the point that we were forced to leave some of the work undone as while we'd have preferred to fix it, it wasn't business critical (we're not a tech business) and cost-benefit ratios simply didn't work out
