1.
Prices seems nuts at the moment. All at around the £10k to £12k mark!
You're looking in the wrong places, there's some on here way lower than that
 2. Withdrawn due to complete lack of interest and on account of my feeling guilty selling what has become something of a mainstay chez Beedster!
 3.
If I hadn't recently bought Chris's '57P this would be mine in a heartbeat, and no question that the CS '55 was the real looker of the two Bump for best bass FS at the moment
Thanks Greg, if my old '65 hadn't re-landed this would be going nowhere, so I blame you mate Putting a few folks out of their misery here, now sold
 4. Nothing sounds like this amp, nothing. However, it was TOO BLOODY LOUD for me! It's a great example of how one has to do one's homework. I wanted a great recording amp, and being a bass player am used to amps rated in the hundreds of watts. This is 25w, so I assumed it would be relatively quiet but toneful. Wrong. As is indicated above, is the equal of many amps rated at over 10 times that level. It's a great example of how good tone travels, and in many respects of just how used we as bassists have become to poor quality sound from otherwise 'high powered' amps. OK this is quite big and quite heavy, but neither are prohibitive, and I've played bigger and heavier amps that produce a quarter of the volume of this. A glorious amp, and I'm very glad you're happy with the tone and volume Chris, stick with it mate, nothing you play ever again will make you sound so good
 5.
https://instagram.com/p/BCTcSUauQR0/ Just in case anyone is wondering... Have also seen this handwriting in the pocket of a telecaster done for the same show. And my wife still hasn't forgiven me for selling this bass
Thanks Andy, appreciated, those are great pics (and please apologise to your wife mate). Chris
 6. Folks, I originally listed this bass at £2000, but dropped the price substantially on Monday this week because I needed to pay for my new DB. I've now sorted that from another source, so will be withdrawing the £1750 price on this bas this Friday (also in part because I won't be able to post it after that date for quite a while). Whilst I could do with the money, I'm more than happy to have it sitting around the place, and am not in a rush to sell it. Anyway, I thought I'd mention this as I know there's a couple of you think I might drop the price further. Trust me on this 100%, I won't, it will in fact go back up again, sorry Chris
 7.
Grrrr I know I should stop looking at this
It has that effect doesn't it
 8.
I'm so loving this bass.
Cheers mate, you should see it in the flesh, it's one of those rare example in which the photos really don't do it credit. FCS really did pull out all of the stops when they did this bass. I've put it back in the case and put the case under the bed, that way I don't keep looking at it and/or picking it up and playing it and questioning whether I'm doing the right thing by selling it
 9.
Heavy Equipment Flapping Trousers.
Ha ha, everything summed up perfectly
 10.
Well done Alex, I remember you first starting out with just an idea and messing about at home with designs and a theory. You've come a very long way from humble beginnings. It's a shame back then your enthusiasm and passion on here were misinterpreted. I hope you feel very proud of what you've accomplished and the best is probably yet to come!
+1
 11. A rather moody pic from Andy's original thread
 12.
From the other side of the fence I just view that as 'easy option first' customer service. Can't be bothered to actually provide you with what you ordered (ie an item that isn't damaged and is the spec you asked for) so they offer to give money as it's quicker/easier for them to deal with. Decent customer service would have been to arrange the return for you at zero cost and ensure the correct product arrived with you (in perfect condition) as swiftly and as pain-free as possible IMO. It's easy to throw money at a problem and hope it goes away. Which is fine it that's the outcome you want :-)
Yep, exactly my thoughts also
 13. Just committed to a new DB so will take offers on this lovely bass
 14. I've just made a rather large commitment to a new DB that, whilst it has come in a little cheaper than anticipated, still needs paying for! So, my gain is your gain, I will accept £1750 for this stunning bass. Thanks, but no offers, no trades and no part exchanges. This is about the going price for the standard CS 55's for what is on many levels a very special, unique and outstanding instrument. I know I'll regret selling this - not a new experience for me to be honest - but moving from live work to recording using mostly DB really is my priority, and it's around those objectives that I want to focus my resources at present (which is why I have got to stop looking at the Basses For Sale forum here, really)! So, to restate, £1750 for this cracker in OHSC plus case candy plus certificate plus spare CS PUP. I might however change my mind so be quick
 15.
thank you both! Beedster, can you expand?
I spent a LOT of money of a custom fretless neck from Warmoth and not only was it not built to specification, their customer service department was characterised by "We know what we are doing, if you don't think the neck is fit for purpose, both you and the very well know UK bass builder who inspected it and wrote a report can take a hike". I sent the neck back to them - at my own expense - and they returned it to me saying they couldn't see any problem other than that I was too fussy. For a total of £600 for a neck I think I'm allowed to be fussy. I don't judge a manufacturer only by what they produce 95% of the time, but by how they deal with the 5% that goes wrong. In this respect Warmoth are THE worst bass-related company I have dealt with, demonstrating both lack of respect for their customers as well as a complete lack of knowledge about bass necks generally.
 16. I had a VERY bad experience with a custom order from Warmoth. Simms for top end, Allparts for good. Don't trust Warmoth
 17.
No problem, Chris... A week in the Alps sounds very nice indeed. Mind you, since I haven't seen you at any Basschat Bash since the national one in 2007, I'm wondering if you're still in a state of shock and post traumatic stress disorder because of that guy who played non-stop slap bass for about 4 hours!?
Yes I am, and it was more than one guy IIRC
 18.
 19.
Are you joining us Chris?
I wish I were Nik but I'm going to be up a mountain in the Alps that week. I don;t have much luck with the SE Bashes do I!
 20.
This thread makes no sense. 1. This guy posts expensive thing to random person without getting paid, believing some nonsense about a card reader. (?) 2. Other guy can't be bothered to pay him, but he is right there on Facebook and at the address where the bass got posted to. (??) 3. so instead of just chasing it up, guy makes a Facebook page and posts on forums about it. In the 'introductions' section. (???) No idea what to make of any of that.
There's nowt stranger than folk
 21.
the right guard is a clear one Great bass, great price GLWS
Fair point
 22. Man, that is the image of my first Stingray from about 15 years ago. Lovely bass at a great price, can't believe it's been here as long as it has to be honest. Oddly, I never found a pickguard that worked with the finish and ended up playing it naked so to speak!
