  1. I mean they know that it is unworkable but don’t care. 30 or 40 years ago they would have cared more about the effectiveness of policy. OK they may not have got it right, but there was a degree of good faith even in contentious policy. Now it’s policy for sake of appearance
  2. The politicians aren’t the idiots, they know exactly what they’re doing and how (in)effective it will be. We’re the idiots for allowing them to.
  3. So it’s placebo legislation and they know it is?
  4. Music is a whole not parts. There’s lots of talent in that room and lots of good parts, but the music doesn’t work for me
  5. It all feels extremely dystopian, can someone explain in simple terms the rationale for the legislation?
  6. I guess the tech is amazing, but f*** me the arrangements and 'performances' most certainly are not. I'm guessing that like pitch correction, which at first was hard to detect but after a while you can just hear it, we'll get a feel for this sort of thing also
  7. 2024 was by far my most difficult year to date for a long list of personal, professional, and emotional reasons. It makes me even more determined to value and enjoy all life has to offer in 2025 🙏
  8. Totally agree Lawrie, thanks mate 🙏
  9. If it doesm't it'll save me a bloody fortune and give me around 2 weeks a year back 🤫
  10. @KiOgon
  11. PS, a little know fact: I once audItioned for U2 🤫
  12. I’m expecting something special bass-wise at Dover 👍😆
  13. Ha ha, it got under your skin after all Sometimes, you just gotta go on stage and make a statement, my old blue sparkle Modulus Flea being a great example, not a bass for all gigs, but at the right gig there's nothing like pulling out something special 👍
  14. Once you've seen it you can't unsee it 😆
  15. I guess a lot of this comes down to what the OP sees as compact, not sure all the suggestions would meet my definition 🙂
  16. Fender A/E, job done 👍
  17. Mesa Subway 15? Yes, probably 👍
  18. Likewise, well done and thanks for posting 🙏
  19. You Sir need to go and stand in the corner and have a very long think about things
  20. That's a lovely offer Chris many thanks. I'm going to check in with Status tomorrow all going well. They list a lot of circuits as currently available but not the Buzzard, so I guess the key question is the degree to which one of those is easily modified to that spec. Either way, I'll keep the above in mind, and thanks again 🙏
  21. Such gloriously good instruments, hugely ignored/underrated in the grand scheme of all things fretless 👍
  22. I have a photo from a gig a few years back where I'm looking for the dots on the bass I'm playing at the time and man my posture was quite extraordinary. As I get older my biomechanical/structural integrity becomes more and more important to me and I'm very glad that I got out of that habit
  23. @Bloopdad1, who knows a hell of a lot about uprights, wasn't being obnoxious but was asking questions that a prospective buyer would ask, largely because your listing isn't exactly comprehensive. For example when I think 'vintage' with double bass I'm thinking earlier than the 60s/70s, so some idea of the actual age would be helpful as I suspect you're using a different point of reference. It also looks like it's been hand painted, I might be wrong but if so it's also the sort of thing you might want to mention in the listing (who, why, is it removabl), and you might also want to explain the reference to the neck that's never been broken which I suspect promotes far more questions that it answers. Not trying to piss on your sale, if it's a good bass at a good price it will sell anyway, but I don't think either your description or your response help in the slightest.
  24. This ^ Working in touch is preferable to working on vision, especially for posture, but working on pitch to develop muscle memory is the goal 👍
