1.
Indeed it is, and very excited I am about getting back into playing a Jazz. I never thought I'd hear myself say that, but with my current rig and setlist, and with some very old La Belle flats, I think it's going to do the job just right (especially while I have my Ric-alike rebuilt!) Cheers James Chris PS apologies to CPBassman also
Mmmm, not sure I'm cut out for Jazzes, even when strung with heavy flats going through lots of old valves and into 2x15s. Neck's too thin and I miss the thump of the Precisions/Rics. Lovely bass, but assuming James doesn't want to buy it back, it's available again Chris
2. I'd start your own band mate, that way you get to call the shots. Having said that, given the trouble we're having with drummers, I'm tempted to take up drums and invite you to take my DB seat in the band. C PS not joking
3. As your selling nemesis mate i strongly suggest you keep it. Firstly because you don't know what your next project will be (could be a Band/Danko tribute....?), and secondly I want to buy it and your withdrawing it would help me out a lot. Seems the right bass for you, keep it and build the next project around it. C PS apologies for once again voicing my opinions without invitation
4. So, Rattlin' Bone need a new DB player..........? Mate, as said above, another notch on the bedpost of life. I think bands are like most relationships, they have a finite period of being enjoyable and productive, and often the worst thing to do is to persist beyond that period. You will have learned a huge amount during the last two years, and that will mean that your next project will be all the better for it. Voodoo Punk anyone? Anyway, gotta go, gotta call a guy about a DB gig
5.
is the 2x10 gone?
As above
6.
Hi interested in the 210. Whats the weight and power change (if there is one) with the replacement speakers in? How much would postage be? (im in Leeds if that makes a difference) Thanks!
It actually sold a couple of weeks back but it's not quite what I was after so I'll happily sell it on for what I paid (£175) plus perhaps £15 for a courier although I'd need to check exactly. Re weight, it's a hell of a lot lighter than was my Mesa 2x10
7.
And I'll give you £1 more than Chris.
My offer is £999,999 but I will bow out to Wayne's offer
8. Hello mate, funnily enough I work in Medway and wouldn't mind picking up a back-up DB to keep at the studio. No idea what that is or what it's worth but please keep me in mind once you decide what you want to do with it Cheers Chris
9.
Shame... Ah, well, good luck with the sale!
Nik, if you fancied my medium shallow bowl electro acoustic Legend 1867 (worth about £550 on current eBay prices, but as we're old mates I'm sure we could do something), I might take a punt on Noel's? Been a while after all Chris
10. Put it on eBay Noel, it's a very nice guitar and likely to feel a lot easier there than on a bass forum, especially as £375 is very cheap for a vintage Ovation. I would love to buy it but already have two Ovation acoustics so have to hold back
11.
Chris.. If you like la bella flats, there's a surprise for you in the case compartment...
Thanks James, you're a star. I greatly appreciate the speed and professionalism of this deal. Looking froward to getting the La Bellas on and giving this bass a damn good workout Chris
12. LOL, Geofio is clearly Ric's main UK dealer
13.
looks to be sold to the beedster
Indeed it is, and very excited I am about getting back into playing a Jazz. 14.
So, when you playing next?
We're very low key
15. Seriously though, what is it doing still here? These are awesome basses (despite being a Jazz). I really would love it but simply can't justify it at present. Damn you taxman, food shops, baby clothes, petrol, pubs, MOT etc etc
16. Which is what I'd always assumed (i.e., in bridged mode you are essentially dealing with a standard mono amp). Thanks for the link, I'll check it and no doubt be back with further questions
17. Funny how long you can go without checking your assumptions. I'm running a stereo Ric into two separate mono preamps. then into a stereo power amp and then into two separate cabs. Now I've always assumed that if I was only running the power amp into one cab, I could only run one preamp into the bridged/mono O/P. It's just occurred to me however that my assumption might be wrong. So, which of the following is the case? 1. You can never run two preamps into a power amp in bridged mode? 2. You can run two preamps into a power amp in bridged mode if the manufacturer lets you (i.e, it's designed to be run this way)?or 3. You can always run two preamps into a power amp in bridged mode? Thanks Chris
18. Too cheap for such a lovely bass. Get it on eBay at £1000 BIN and offer to post to Europe and it'll be gone within a day. I'm finding myself increasingly drawn back to Jazzes but can't justify this, although I SO wish I could. Good luck Chris
19. Somewhere yes, but not online. IIRC it's in a recent fretless technique book. I'll see if I can find it C
