  1. You might be right 🕺
  2. The same guy has been selling this monster for over a year and IIRC it started out with a flamboyant description and a £299 price tag. You don’t need to be trained in psychoanalysis to diagnose optimism here….. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125653279648?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=1QKe1QltT7q&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=155UlNbXQGW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  3. ….or a bitsa?
  4. Seller says not released until ‘81 with back stock necks, so it’s an ‘81…?
  5. Well I’m not a fan 😕
  6. Some pics Front (in case you're not aware that this is the front), lovely aged, yellowed, cracked.... Back, you can see the buckle rash and other wear under the new finish
  7. Folks I have an old Jazz body that was once Oly White but now a lovely nicotine yellow. A previous owner has however overpainted the back, which has some serious buckle rash, in white. I have no idea what paint they've used, but it looks quite thinly applied. I'd like to get that new finish off the back but leave as much of the original worn finish as possible. Importantly where the original finish is worn through to the wood I'd also like to explose the wood if possible. Gut feel is several hours with sandpaper which will at least allow me some control of the just how much of the finish comes away, but I'm happy to hear better suggestions if you happen to have any 👍
  8. We used to glower at the guitarist irrespective of who'd made the mistake, not nice but ore fun
  9. Thanks Paddy, might give them a go, a couple of guys on TB have commented that they're worth a look also 👍
  10. Probably exceeded it's intended usefulness, useful in a whole different way now......
  11. I went to a boys school where nearly the entire population recognised and worshipped Lemmy. The girls who I knew at the time were very much into Japan and could recognise Mick Karn albeit as the second most important band member. I'd say that the most recognisable bass player of that era was however Nick Beggs, largely as the result of him getting quite a lot of visual real estate on TOTP (mostly hair-related) and the fact that people were aware that the rhythmic percussive sound he was making was the result of abusing playing a bass guitar
  12. Not sure they’d do much better with guitarists, likely Sheeran and Swift would top the list as people most photographed with guitars round their neck
  13. I sincerely hope that she puts Mr H at the top of the list 👍
  14. That's pretty shocking given.... 1. They had one of the most iconic bass players ever (hey, he has a Sig....) 2. People here often say they aspire to JJB's tone 3. They wrote some awesome songs and produced some incredible albums 4. BC members generally like Prog?
  15. Blu De Tiger See what I did there 👍
  16. You’ve overdone it by about 6 Tim 👍
  17. Keannu 👍
  18. Fixed it for you 👍
  19. Jaco is forgivable, I played with a drummer who’d never heard of Paul McCartney, who is probably the most broadly famous bass player in the planet?
  20. Beautiful instrument, very sorry to hear the reason for the sale. Thoughts are with you and your family ❤️
  21. What I will say about the Fusion is that while it's extremely robust with a lot of padding, my standard 4-string Jazz Bass appears only just to fit with most of the padding removed. Precision and Stingray are both fine, just seems that the offset body shape has thrown the bag a curve ball that puts the headstock very close to end end of the bag and relatively unprotected by comparison with the level of protection in other parts of the bag. I'm pretty sure there would be a wide variety of basses that would not fit. https://www.fusion-bags.com/collections/guitar-and-bass-gig-bags/products/fg-double-electric-bass-guitar-gig-bag
  22. It's an immensely impressive collection by any standard, even by the standards of immensely impressive collections, but certainly seems to veer firmly in the direction of what I've always thought of - rightly or wrongly - the Eurobass side of things. I'm a luddite Brit at heart, I like a Precision, if pushed a Jazz, if really pushed a Wal or a Ric. Despite that massive collection, it was the beautiful '70 Precision that caught my eye the most. Sorry Tony As an aside, I'll never forget - because it was so unexpected and inappropriate - what a musician said to me when he saw me with a Yamaha TRB-6 around my neck. Made me realise that 4 strings and Leo-designed is where my soul resides
  23. I was going to say you could have mine FOC but also a Precision neck, and to be honest, I suspect you'd probably not like it much either!
  24. Not sure I get what you mean? EDIT Ah yes I do, nothing deliberate Tony, I think i just had BC fatigue at the wrong moment and was on the phone and out so failed to see them all 👍
  25. Good spot 👍
