  1. I would, don't see it as an unpaid gig, see it as a free rehearsal All joking aside and re this.... .... I'm not sure what a genuine supporter of live music is or isn't, but if it's a genuine music venue as opposed to a pub that just wants free acts, I'd be in.
  2. Nice analogies πŸ‘
  3. Frankly if it wasn’t being rammed down our throats by every media source we’d probably not even notice Jack
  4. Really should have bought a set of Gamuts before they tariffs struck πŸ˜•
  5. I'm gonna try and get to that πŸ‘
  6. Did the guy in Paris get his money back?
  7. Agreed, i worry when i see stuff price at dangerously low prices in some places that it's because they're about to go under....
  8. Well I'd be f***ing careful then @Si600, because screwing your voice up in that situation is very easily done, and can result in a lot of problems not just limited to no longer being able to sing a couple of songs at a gig. And re.... They're also two Stranglers songs that require some vocal skill to avoind becoming shouty, it's almost like I saw this coming.....
  9. Frankly, it's a bit of a sobering warning about buying expensive gear online. Does anyone know whether a person in that situation be protected had they paid by PayPal or by credit card?
  10. Crikey, I return to this thread to find the forum has changed to pickguardchat.co.uk
  11. Don’t confuse this with the smaller Drophead 30, this is a big unit πŸ‘
  12. I have both, the Ampeg does the Ampeg thing, this does the Ashdown thing, rounder, fuller, fatter, and louder. This would be a very big DI πŸ‘
  13. Sorry this is a significantly larger and heavier unit than the Ampeg and is not being shipped
  14. Better a strong back than lightweight gear. Other opinions are available πŸ‘
  15. There are probably easier ways
  16. ....oh, and first gig I did with them he forgets his mic case πŸ€”
  17. You generally know either way, and in my experience it's foolish you go against your gut instincts on these things, they always prove to be correct in the end. I remember an audition where the band were really tight and I was flattered to get the gig. However even driving away from the audition, before I knew it had been successful, I knew that more than 30-minutes in a room with the singer was not going to work for me, he was a winey low talent tool with delusions of grandeur and only an average voice, and he did that thing where he looks at you occasionally just to let you know you did something he didn't like. Anyway, I was so right πŸ‘
  18. And the head nicely tucked away for its siesta, a trick it learned from Ampeg πŸ‘
  19. Not easy for find easy to find reliable specs on these as it's not longer on the Ashdown website. I did however discover that it was originally built by Ashdown for Adam Clayton.......... https://www.talkbass.com/threads/ashdown-drophead.713232/ Any way, another pic with the rather lovely cab....
  20. That's really frustrating @Bassman1974, assuming the price includes postage could I take those off your hands please? Thanks πŸ‘
  21. Minor but important details.....
